I am writing to file a formal complaint against Moto Adelaide and Arai Helmet Australia regarding a recent purchase I made and the subsequent handling of my concerns. My experience with Moto Adelaide has been profoundly disappointing and has raised serious concerns regarding consumer rights and ethical business practices.

On April 26th, 2024, I purchased an Arai Quantic Helmet, Large size, from Moto Adelaide for $1200 AUD. Upon inspecting the helmet upon arrival at home, I discovered a crucial ventilation piece missing. This defect was not due to misuse but rather a manufacturing flaw or an oversight during the purchase process.

Given the significance of this issue, I attempted to return the helmet immediately. However, the store was closed, necessitating a delay until the following Monday. This delay caused me significant inconvenience, as I had to borrow a helmet for my motorbike training, resulting in discomfort and the need to reschedule due to an ill fit.

Upon my return to Moto Adelaide on April 29th to seek a refund, I was met with aggression and refusal from the owner. Despite citing Arai's warranty policy, which clearly states returns for unsatisfactory items, the owner dismissed my concerns. Her insistence that I locate the missing piece to "prove" it was factory-faulty was unreasonable and contrary to consumer rights.

Furthermore, when I expressed my intention to escalate the matter to the legal authorities, she callously stated she "didn't care" and sarcastically questioned my profession. This behavior is unacceptable and demonstrates a flagrant disregard for consumer rights and ethical standards.

Additionally, my attempts to seek resolution from Arai Helmet Australia were equally disappointing. Their customer service representative hung up the phone before I could finish speaking, demonstrating a lack of willingness to address my concerns and provide a refund as per their warranty policy.

I urge Complaints Board to intervene in this matter to ensure that Moto Adelaide and Arai Helmet Australia adhere to consumer laws and ethical business practices. I request assistance in securing a $1200 refund for the faulty helmet and a thorough investigation into Moto Adelaide's business practices.
