I have done business with Mirage Custom Pools out of the Dallas area and this does not sound like the same company. I have a very pleasant experience with Mirage and would recommend them without reservations.
I am the pool builder. Are you sure that you built a pool with Mirage? I have check and I know that from 2000 to present I have not built a pool for a Derek Hayes.
Please let me know. You have made some serious accusations that are just not true and are very damaging.

I also had Mirage build a pool for me about 2 and a half years ago. It was a nightmare from the beginning to the end. I would NEVER NEVER recommend this company to build a pool for anyone. The owner comes on very kind and knowlegable... once you've signed the dotted line he is a totally different person and extremely hard to get in touch with once things start going wrong. The customer sevice dose not exist.

I hired Mirage to build my pool and I agree they have been the worst company I have ever worked with. The biggest problem is lack of management and the use of subcontractors. Thye are also misleading in what they tell you and what they do. I went with Mirage because they were reocommended by the company building my house and they were much less in price than Gold Medal pools for what looked like identical work. In the end they cost me more than the Gold Medal bid and were 3 months late. They were supposed to finish build when the house was done and still told me they would finish up to 2 weeks before. When they got their big installments they stopped showing up. I had to call almost every day asking where they were, I came home one day to find 6 workers there - all asleep on my back patio! They split material between my house and another and did not complete either on time. The pool was plagued with issues which I had to beg them to fix and were still happening after the "finished" at which point they wanted to charge me to come out (without telling me beforehand). I would NEVER recommend this company to ANYONE under any circumstances. Be aware also of the contract - what they "sell" to you is not what they put in the contract and they use different color font which won't show on a printout. I was extermely unhappy with them and would hope if yyou are reading this that you will avoid them at all costs.

My comments would be exactly the same as dismayed pool owner! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! Six months later and I am still dealing with the problems and have also been told I could have to pay for repairs for of all things, an auto fill that was never connected! Stay away and use another company!

This company is a scamming joke!. I hired them in March 2014 to build a pool at a brand new house that was being built. Fast forward to the middle of June, 2 weeks prior to when they were supposed to start and I get an email confirmation telling me that the pool build is a go for June 30. 3 days prior to the start, I call them to find out how I need to make the first payment to begin and they tell me that
A. They now need an extra $1400 to start the excavation because all of a sudden there is less room for the equipment to get through.
B. They cannot tell me when they were able to begin
C. They could not tell me when they might finish even though the owner said it can be built in 5 1/2 weeks start to finish
D. There might be more charges once they begin excavating including my driveway, neighbor and my fence, sprinkler system...etc
Owner came out to the house to tell me these things so we mutually agreed that they should not begin the build since I needed the pool completed by the end of August and he had no answers for me. I asked the company for a full refund of the $2100+ and the owner told me I cancelled the contract and thus they are keeping fees like administrative, restocking and others. Almost a month later and still no money has been refunded to me.
BEWARE of this SCAM. They left me with no time to find another company to start and finish my pool build. This I am certain was timed purposely to try to get me to pay more then the signed contract amount.
