In 2012, I made the terrible mistake of hiring CPA Mark T. Mullin of Mullin & Associates, CPA, P.C. in Auburn Hills, Michigan to prepare my own income tax returns for 2011 and the returns of a recently deceased family member.
This individual and his employees turned out to be nothing more than a bunch of liars and con artists. They repeatedly assured me they could handle the two sets of income tax returns I needed to have prepared and filed by the April 2012 filing deadlines. They asked me to fill out their tax organizer documents, which I did, in order to expedite the return preparation process.

In addition, I gave CPA Mark T. Mullin copies of the previous year's tax returns, and the necessary documentation to support all financial calculations. Both sets of returns were straightforward, and should have been completed in about an hour.

Mark T. Mullin's staff told me they would charge me $300 for each set of local, state and federal returns needed. I reluctantly agreed, and they again assured me that there was more than enough time to meet all of the regular tax filing deadlines in April.

Trying to work with this individual and his corrupt staff turned out to be an absolute nightmare. There is no way that Mark T. Mullin should be allowed to have a CPA license in the State of Michigan. He is corrupt, unethical, unprofessional, vicious, abusive, and yet another white collar criminal who should be behind bars.

He intentionally and maliciously prepared the wrong tax forms for me and my deceased family member with incorrect information. He also intentionally prepared a bunch of unnecessary forms that turned what should have been a simple tax return preparation process into a complicated, asinine mess.

He repeatedly refused to send me accurate invoices. He refused to send me correct income tax returns with accurate information using the right forms. He personally threatened me with small claims court when I refused to accept his sub-standard, inaccurate, incomplete, unacceptable and fraudulent work. I told him I wouldn't sign fraudulent income tax returns for either myself or for my deceased family member, and that I would not pay him until I had the corrected tax returns in hand. He never provided me with the accurate 2011 income tax returns that I paid him $600 to complete.

In addition to preparing fraudulent tax returns, CPA Mark T. Mullin never allowed me to talk to him by phone about any of my concerns. He never gave me enough time to properly proofread all of the complicated (and incorrect) tax documents he intended to file electronically until I put a stop to it all. He then repeatedly threatened to take me to small claims court if I “didn't pay up $600 immediately”.

This con artist creep bullied me, harassed me, and threatened me for intentionally preparing two sets of fraudulent income tax returns. He knew the returns were wrong and that they were filled with errors. Seriously? Is this really the type of criminal behavior that the State of Michigan's Treasury Department and the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) allow, condone and support? Mark T. Mullin and his staff are a bunch of criminals, and they need to be held accountable. They also need to refund my $600 now!

Mark T. Mullin knew the tax returns I needed him to prepare weren't complicated. In fact, he could have used all of the same forms from the previous year's returns that I had provided to him. All he had to do was update the numbers. That was it. It wasn't complicated.

Instead, he targeted me and my deceased family member for some malicious con game that was driven by his hatred of honest, law-abiding citizens. He refused to do his job, which was to prepare correct returns in a timely manner by the various filing deadlines in April. His actions forced me to file extensions for both sets of income tax returns, which I should not have been forced to do.

Mark T. Mullin and his corrupt staff of liars don't have any excuses for what they did. So that's why I am requesting that Mark T. Mullin actually show some integrity and professionalism, step up to the plate and refund my entire $600 now. Why should I have to pay for some immoral liar whose only goal was to prepare a bunch of fraudulent income tax returns and then bully and threaten me for money? Even though he dissolved his company – Mullin & Associates, CPA, P.C. – in Auburn Hills in 2013 and moved his corrupt business to Bloomfield Hills, his fraudulent practices, criminal motives and Web site full of lies haven't changed. In other words, he's still a crook and a shyster!

Law-abiding citizens of Michigan deserve so much better than this goon! No one in Michigan should ever hire this corrupt CPA and his staff to do anything! He should have his license revoked, his offices and all of his belongings seized and taken away by the federal government, and he and his staff of liars put away for life so they can rot in some hell hole prison in another country. Then he and his anti-American staff will have more than enough time to think about the criminal acts they've committed against law-abiding American citizens who hired them in good faith to prepare their income tax returns.

After I was forced to prepare filing extensions for both sets of returns, I had to find, hire and pay another income tax preparation service to actually do the work that CPA Mark T. Mullin was still paid $600 for not doing. Why should I be forced to pay a corrupt, immoral CPA $600 for lying and not doing what he said he was going to do? That's wrong! Mark T. Mullin and his employees need to be in federal prison for running a total scam operation in Michigan. Why doesn't the Michigan Attorney General's Office shut down this con artist?

We just came across this fictitious post. This individual was never a client of ours. Whoever made this complaint should be charged with libel and slander. We pride ourselves on being professional and taking extra care to make sure all of our clients’s needs are addressed. We have a firm policy that when returns are prepared the client is contacted. The returns can be picked up, at which time we go over the return with the client, or we can send them in the mail. Regarding billing, we discuss fees prior to return preparation during our initial meeting with the clients. Also, any CPA in the field does more than just change the numbers from the prior year. All clients have the opportunity to discuss, with me directly, any concerns they may have.
