I purchased a Log Home Kit from Affordable Log Home Concepts in August of 2008. A Contract was agreed upon and signed between myself and Stacey Gaylord in the amount of $96, 353.21.

He was paid by 4 different payments - $2635.00, $7658.84, $38704.96 and $47, 354.41. All prior to the delivery of my materials.

On October 1, 2008, Stacey came from North Carolina to Hilton, NY with the Logs and partial loads of lumber for my home. He had explained and we had agreed that the building lumber would be made in numerous deliveries from a local lumber yard as they were needed.

Things were going along ok, the builders built the first floor cap over the basement, all materials were received. They stacked the logs, all items were received. They built the second floor cap over the logs, all materials were received. When my builder started building the roof, we came up 22 rafters short. I spoke with Stacey about it and he claimed his "program" counted wrong. He sent the rafters. They went on to start the exterior walls and the entire back wall, 54 feet, we did not have 2x6's to build the wall. Again, Stacey sent them after he argued with me about them. Stating that his "program" counted them wrong. When my builder started to build the front porch, we had no joists to build the roof, nor did we have the correct posts. 6 Carry posts and a beam for the front porch - he sent pressure treated materials for this. My beautiful white pine cabin and he sent green pressure treated lumber for the porch. NOT what it was supposed to be. We spoke about this and that was the last conversation we had. November 15, 2008. My husband and I had to purchase the rafters for the porch as Stacey did not send them...cost out of our pocket.

He had promised that he ordered the windows and doors and that they would be delivered. I called him, no response. I never received a call back to my questions on the windows and doors. My builder and I sat down, went through the lumber we had on site and through the Blue Prints that were purchased from Stacey Gaylord. We made a list of all the missing materials. Over $30, 000 worth of items missing.

Windows/Doors ($12647.61 we had to pay out of pocket because he did not order), Half Log Staircase with Railings ($5, 700), Railings to match staircase that go across my loft area, Tongue and Groove (3000 sq.ft - $3, 500), Decorator Beams ($6, 500), Double Plate Ties for Rafters in Roof ($19.00) dimensional lumber for the interior walls, white pine fascia boards for exterior trim (80 lineal ft), soffit framing & venting, trim for the exterior, decking for the front porch (5 pieces - $48.96), ice and water shield and vapor barrier for the roofing ($187.50), Ridge Vents (6'4" - $64.80), LVL Beams - lumber to wrap them (Dimensional Lumber & Delivery Lump Sum - $2500.00. All items here are included in the contract.

Stacey Gaylord will not return my calls. For a short period of time I had spoken with my Attorney - Matt Ryen. Stacey claimed he would get a price together and discuss it with my Attorney, he never did...month after month after month he kept putting it off. I have called and left messages, I have emailed. No return emails and no return phone calls.

I went to the BBB, the case was closed because Stacey claimed we were in a legal suit and that he was unable to work with me.

I have asked and asked for my items to be sent. Nothing in response for over 1 year and 6 months.

I only want what I have paid for and what is in our contract. It is paid in full and I have had to put money out again to pay for everything that Stacey did not send.

We do not live in the Cabin, I can't get a Certificate of Occupancy due to the fact that I can't purchase the materials and finish the remainder of the projects. Our savings has been exhausted and there is nothing more we can do.

The BBB will not do anything, The Attorney General can't do anything, The Consumer Protection Board will NOT do anything. When I have no money to sue him...where else am I to turn and what else am I to do?

Stacey Gaylord runs all the following and acts as if he is a big owner and seller of Log Homes...which he is NOT... Log Home Concepts, LLC, Affordable Log Home Concepts or Log Homes Direct are nothing but FRAUDS.

This is in response to JR...

Well "JR", I am the "she" you refer to in the paragraph above. Stacey Gaylord is more along the lines of what your name is and you can go and spue forth all the LIES you want to. The fact of the matter is, I never changed anything I did not PAY FOR. I paid, in FULL $98, 000. I did not and to this day HAVE NOT received my materials! Stacey Gaylord and Affordable Log Homes is a FARCE! And what ever other company names he goes by...Log Homes Direct for one.

If he is such a great company and great person to deal with, why does he not call and make good on the contract? Because he is NOT a true business person.

I find it hysterical that Stacey has time to make up stories and come back on against my complaints but doesn't have the nerve to complete the task at hand. He was paid and I never received my items $40, 000 worth of items. No phone call, no email, no fax, no return calls to my lawyer. HE IS FRAUD! And until the day my cabin is complete, with the materials I purchased from this farce, I will continue to post listings AGAINST his company.

I believe with my whole heart that this was written by Stacey Gaylord himself. Seems really fishy that a customer would spue forth such detailed information about a case that Stacey doesn't even talk to a customer about and try to figure out and finish. The issues with the LVLs came because Stacey did not purchase the correct size, not because of a plan change. The loft would never have been supported with the LVL that he had put in place. Funny how this is almost word for word with the conversation I had with Stacey. My Log Home is 2400 sq. ft. I had enough T&G to cover the roof, not enough for the first floor ceiling which is written into my contract. I was not sent the decorator beams, round, that were supposed to be put up on the ceiling. I did not receive the half log staircase and the 20' of railing across my loft and the railing down both sides of my staircase. I did not receive the posts that were supposed to be for my front and back porch. I did not receive ANY of my windows and doors, I had to put the money out for those all over again to keep the house going. I did not receive all of the pieces for my front deck, nor for my back deck. All of which total $40, 000 worth of materials!

The Attorney General is just like the BBB, if the business doesn't respond, like Stacey didn't, they don't care. They told me to take it to court.

IF Stacey and this company were so into their customers, why no return response? All I got was an email from Stacey stating that he was in the hospital for a few days, that was why he had not responded and that he would get everything together and call me back. NEVER HAPPENED. You know why? Because he is FRAUDULENT!

Call the number provided, all you get is either Stacey, perhaps "Bryant" which is Stacey, saying that he is Bryant which is actually his son or you get a continuous circle on a voice mail machine...goes round and round and noone ever picks up. Try it...its amusing at the very least.

Ask him why he does just finish the job with me and send me my items. He won't even discuss it. At the very least, as he says I "changed" so many items, well, send me the money for what he was going to purchase. If the windows were worth $8, 000, then send the $8, 000 back. Seems fair right? Well, he won't even discuss it with my Lawyer. What does that tell you? Why no staircase? There were no changes. Send the staircase. Why no decorator beams? What can you change about those? Nothing. Why not send them?

I still don't live in the cabin, I can't, I don't have the materials to finish it. I will lose it soon as it is almost 2 years on the mortgage, I can't get permits to finish. The bank will take it and thats that. Does that seem right when a company won't call and try to work through the issues at hand?

PS. When Stacey came to Hilton NY to set up the log home, he did not know how the saddle notches went together. HE called Twin Creeks Log Home Building Supply where the logs came from to find out how they went together! HE was the one that said that each notch needed to be "chiseled slightly for a tight fit". Hours of going through the packages of logs to find the half logs for the first course. Then, he had them upside down. Me and one of the builders figured out how to put them together.

That's the truth! Even have video.

Call Twin Creeks...ask for Cathy. I was the only Log Cabin Kit that Stacey had ever ordered and has ever ordered. She even said Stacey stole pictures from their website and used them on his website without permission!

I added pictures of chiseled log and Stacey standing there not knowing what was going on. My builders couldn't wait for him to leave because he kept screwing everything up because he had no clue what was going on.

Found today that there is another website/business name that he runs under - Log Home Creations - www.loghomecreations.com

He just opens them, has a problem and then moves on to another name.

Stacey Brian Gaylord has 7 JUDGEMENTS against him. I have the paperwork to prove it. I have the paperwork to prove how many different business names he has tried to make work. Its pathetic.

I have a Lawyer, I am suing him, I will be in debt up to my ears for years to come, but I am done screwing around with all this crap!

I would report his businesses to the IRS. You know he wasn't claiming any of that money on his taxes. They will come after him.

I agree. Gaylord is a total ripoff. This man should be incarcerated. One mistake he has made, was to rip me off for $45, 000. This man will have to look over his shoulder for the rest of his life, wondering if I am behind him. He is a liar, fraud, and waste of human life. His girlfiend Jacqueline Richardson is in on it also. She owns the house he is committing fraud out of, and is aware of what he does.

I have a problem with a couple of things the have been documented in the complaint. I have purchase materials and packages from this company for 3 years now, and have never had any problems what so ever. The bend over backwards to make their customers happy, I cannot believe this company would have two sides the bust your but to make everyone happy, then the will not work with customers and not provide materials to them. I think their is more to this than the home owner is telling. I have researched the internet, and checked with the BBB they have no complaints in four years of business other than this one. Companies that defraud consumers do it regularly and they have terrible customer service, and that is by far not this company. I was concerned when I read this on the internet and because of the regular business we do with them, I wanted to know what was going on with this, so I called to speak with someone that kind of sooth my nerves a bit. When they explained the other side of the situation, it was confirmed to me that this home owner was leaving out major details about the entire situation. The home owner failed to mention that she did this same thing to another log home company and claimed they had ripped her off, when in fact she did the same thing to the other company that she is doing to this one. She is not telling the internet how she changed her home plan after the logs and siding and T&G were already delivered to her property. She is also not telling how they bent over backwards, to make her happy by providing her with additional materials no questions asked as her project was going forward, not because they could not be verified they were short, but because the customer thought would not have enough. She also is not telling you that they provided her additional precut saddle notch corner sections at no additional cost, after her builder chiseled them out because they did not know how to put them together. They also had LVL beams delivered to her property, that after her plans were changed had to be sent back, the company paid the restocking fee and the new larger LVL's were sent to her property, again they did not ask her to pay for that, they paid for it to keep the customer happy, that is the company I deal with. It was also explained to me that when she had the the plan changed she decided to change her window and door schedules and did not want to pay the additional cost that came with making those changes. The company feels as if they have been scammed, by her. She has and does make ridiculous demands, about what was not provided and what was provided, but yet she cannot get any help to resolve the issue, that also sound fishy to me, in NC the Attorney Generals office is very good about going after companies that defraud customers. I would say to any one that may read this article, and may be thinking about using this company. Call them and ask them to cover this issue before you turn away, they offer great products for really good prices. They are extremely open about this issue, and I feel that once you hear their side of the story, you will see that this customer is the issue, There are so many other things that were relayed to me about the situation, that I did not put in this response that proves to me that they have tried everything to work with her, but she is just making ridiculous demands and they cannot find a resolution with a irrational person. Sincerely Jr
