I recently had a bad experience with Local Harvest, a website that connects consumers with local farmers and food producers. I placed an order for some fresh produce from a local farm through their website, and paid for it using my credit card. However, a few days later, I received an email from Local Harvest saying that my order had been cancelled due to "unforeseen circumstances". I was disappointed and frustrated, as I had been looking forward to receiving my order and supporting a local farmer.

What really bothered me, though, was that Local Harvest did not bother to notify me or the farm that they had cancelled the order. I only found out because I happened to check my email and saw the message. The farm had no idea that the order had been cancelled, and had already harvested the produce and prepared it for delivery. They were understandably upset and confused, and I felt embarrassed and frustrated that I had recommended Local Harvest to them.

Overall, I would not recommend using Local Harvest for online orders. While their website is easy to use and they have a good selection of local products, their customer service and communication leave a lot to be desired. If you want to support local farmers and food producers, I would suggest finding a different website or platform that is more reliable and transparent.

Local Harvest is a really good site! It helps you find all the most amazing locally grown foods. And if you can't find something you want locally, you can order through the site from a high quality farm. It's really fabulous, and even if you don't care about the health benefit, it all tastes so much better =)

This website is pretty decent, but it could use some updating. It's a bit tricky to find what you're looking for sometimes. I'm not entirely sure if they're a non-profit or not. I was part of a CSA that mentioned they paid Local Harvest for some kind of computer program. It wasn't a huge amount, but I'm sure it adds up over time. It's not entirely clear if they're a business or a non-profit (although I have to admit, I've had similar issues with other non-profits).

I ordered some seeds from Local Harvest back in March. They said they would mail them out on April 4th and charged my credit card. However, after a week had passed, I still hadn't received them. So, I decided to send them an email to inquire about the status of my order. The next day, they replied and said they weren't sure why I hadn't received them yet, but that they would send more later that day.

Unfortunately, twelve days later, I still hadn't received anything. I know for a fact that they have the correct address, so I don't think it's the fault of the postal service. I'm starting to get a bit frustrated at this point, especially since it's now too late to plant them. I've requested a refund, but I'm a bit worried that I might have to dispute the charge with my credit card company.

Overall, I'm pretty disappointed with my experience with Local Harvest. I was really looking forward to planting these seeds, but now it seems like that's not going to happen. I understand that mistakes happen, but I wish they had been a bit more proactive in resolving the issue. Hopefully, they'll be able to sort things out and I'll be able to get my money back.

This website is one that I have had some mixed experiences with. It claims to be a non-profit website that is focused on promoting green and sustainable ideals, but I have found that it seems to serve itself more than the consumers it claims to be helping. One thing that I have noticed is that the website receives a percentage of sales, which makes me question whether or not it has an agenda when it comes to withholding negative reviews.

On many of the product pages, I have noticed that negative reviews won't open to show detail, while rave reviews are open for all to see. This seems like a bit of a red flag to me, and when I commented on it, my account was deleted, wiping out all of my purchase history. This has been frustrating, as I am now due a refund for a product that was detained for over a week and had gone rotten in the process, but there is no record of my purchase through LocalHarvest.org.

In addition to this, I have also come across farmers who have pasted the USDA organic seal on products that were not certified. This is a major issue, and it makes me question the legitimacy of this website. While there are some good farmers who sell through this website, I have been told by one farmer directly that this is nothing more than ebay for farm products.

Overall, I would say that this website is a bit of a parasite. While it may have some good intentions, it seems to be more focused on serving itself than the consumers it claims to be helping. If you do decide to use this website, I would recommend double-checking the certification with the state agency to ensure that you are getting what you paid for.
