South Lithia service center, at a cost of over $5000, installed multiple defective parts last fall, which had begun to break within months. When the new idler arm broke in March, it just made a lot of noise, but did not endanger my life. The same cannot be said about the ball joint that snapped in half in June, causing a wheel to separate from the vehicle. When that happened, I went to Lithia and asked for my money back, because it was apparent that none of the parts could be trusted. I wanted to replace them all at a different shop. They offered $300. Then $2500. (Still only half what I paid and not enough to cover the work.) I left, heartsick. I got the parts all replaced at my own expense, whereupon more defective parts were discovered, that could have resulted in the loss of a wheel. I returned to Lithia, provided documentation w/photos & receipts, and again requested my money back, this time in writing. In the nearly 3 weeks since then, they have not responded. It seems quite clear that Lithia does not care if their shoddy parts and shoddy work results in deaths on the highway.
