I paid for a year of Sirius radio and I was aware the plan would be automatically renewed if I didn't cancel. A couple of weeks before the renewal date, I tried to cancel, but was told if I cancelled early that I would have pay an early cancellation fee and that I could cancel ONLY on the date of renewal. The early cancellation fee was approximately $70, which was almost half of what I paid. Especially if payment was made in advance, Sirius should accept cancellation requests when it is convenient for the customer. Altogether, I spent about an hour on what should have taken 5 minutes. Also when I cancelled, I wasn't given a confirmation number.

the early cancellation fee is 75$ and this one is applied only on the 2nd unit that u purchase with a discounted price or free ONLY, and it's convenient to do that as long as u get more than 70% discount on the unit's price itself

I have tried to cancel my account since November 2010 by calling their call center. I was never able to reach anyone beyond the ridiculous hold time. I learned online that others who did manage to reach a live person were lied to. They were told that their service would be cancelled, but they discovered later that they were still being billed. They were told at that point that: "we have no record of you calling in to cancel."

I have written twice to their Customer Care center with no response. My credit card account was still being charged. Finally, I called my credit card company this past weekend and told them not to pay Sirius XM on any future billings. My credit card company complied.

I have gone online to "My Account" to cancel service, but there is no option presented online to cancel. I have been emailing back and forth with them since Saturday and they are playing the same games as before when I emailed them in back in 2010. They will only accept cancellations by telephone, even though you cannot reach anyone beyond the hold time. Moreover, you cannot rely on a representative's promise to cancel your account because it's your word against theirs, when later you discover that they have not processed your cancellation at all..

Significantly, in all these email exchanges that I have had with their company, they never once have offered to call me to help process my cancellation of service. Whatever reasonable way exists to resolve my issue with them, they avoid or obstruct accordingly. Meanwhile, they continue to bill and accrue charges on your unwanted account.

The company needs to go bankrupt and lose its present corporate board and management. Obviously, there are serious underlying financial problems causing this behavior. We are seeing the tip of the iceberg here.

I have filed complaints with the BBB, the FCC, my US Senator's office, my state attorney general and others. I will do whatever I can as an individual to see that the word spreads far and wide about how this company operates. Sooner or later, the dam is going to break and they will deserve every bit of that pent up backlash.
