Landmark Window Systems review: Bad service 3

The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.

I had 6 specialty windows (3 panes of glass) installed in March of 2008. I am still trying to get the two that aren't made right replaced. There is a large space at the top where the sash meets the frame. The cold wind comes in so bad that we had to pack the window to keep the cold out in winter. They keep putting me off with excuses of all sorts. They have been coming here Periodically in the past year and have measured but it is still not done. They said they had ordered sashes in January 2010 and after awhile they called and said one came in broken so they had to wait for it. They have given me so many excuses that i feel this is probably a plan to put me off so that i will get discouraged and give it up. My neighbor had twice as many windows replaced for half the price that i paid.

This has caused me so much stress over the past two years. It is pretty sad when companies take advantage of seniors in this way.

I have had the run around since the very beginning. I would call and they would say the person i last talked to was no longer there or they could never find my file or information. They finally came and measured and i was told they would replace the whole of the two windows, then call back a month later and say no they were going to just put in new sashes and came and measured again. A month later they would say again no they had to replace the whole thing, then call back again and say they changed their mind again. This has gone on and on.

I don't believe they have any intention of doing anything and are waiting for me to say forget it, then they are free of having to do anything.

I wrote to the BBB and they weren't very happywith that. They came again and measured and said they ordered sashes. They still haven't fixed the problem and i keep wondering what the next excuse will be.

I think they partly know that they are going to have a hard time to get a good fit so they will likely do nothing.

I had a letter drawn up by a lawyer and will likely have to get it filed at the Courthousw and end up in court. If i have to go to that extent, i am going to go for a monetary amount for all the stress they have put me through.

They have come and measured three times and still nothing has come of this.

You're bang on Hugo! This company also provided poor service after they got my signiature. I would never recommend this company to anyone ( unless I hate them). I found the salesman to be without a backbone when called several months enquiring when the job would be done. Took them almost 6 months to install a few windows and one door. I have some more windows to install, so I plan on calling landmark so I can waste the salesmans time with his predictable pitch.

I too used Landmard Windows to replace every window in my home including the basement windows at a lovely cost of $15000.00 plus dollars..I should have known better right from the beginning with the atttitude from the sales manager when i tried to delay the contract for window replacement 2 days after the deal was made due to a surpise in financial changes i was about to face... anyway the saleman (Jim M) seemed nice enough and convinced to stay on track with the replacement.. I wish i would have done more research cause I NEVER would have used Landmark..First mistake i made was to trust the saleman (Jim M) as his only interest was to make a commision..The windows had problems fogging up soon as the weather turned cold, , one of my side windows cranks have failed and the best is one of the largest windows, inner pane was chipped when my young daughter leaned back in her chair.. I truly believe the window was faulty ( but try to prove that, especially with THAT company), as it was hit very lightly.. Any way the inner pane cracked all the way to 3 edges and when I FINALLY heard back from Landmark after several attempts. their attitude was terrible... I couldn't do anything but pay for the replacemnt and when i asked for an estimate and have someone come out they said they would and get back to me... WELL THEY HAVNT YET and it's been about 6 months.. so now I'm using a different company to do the repair and now all I'm gonna do is warn all the consumers I can about this company and i work with alot of public so word is definately getting out..DO NOT USE LANDMARK FOR ANYTHING IF U CARE AT ALL ABOUT YOUR HOME, , , , and trust me I have already met others who have used this company and feel the same way...

Landmark Windows have done nothing about my complaints. I have had problems from the word go with the installers, poor installation, errors in measurement. Now I cannot finish my house and put siding on because the window flashing is not set out far enough and the rain will pour off the sill, behind the siding unless they totally redo the window flashing on 90% of the windows! After spending well over $40, 000 on windows I expected some service. I don't even get return phone calls!
