We purchased or LG fridge from the Brick 3 years ago. We are a family of 5 so it gets used. It completed died at the at the beginning of Aug over the long weekend. Of course I tried to call them on a Sat as they were open however I had little faith they would answer and the Brick warranty department who told me I had to contact them laughed and said I would be better to email as they never answer their phones. So Brick knows this company sucks but still sells their warranty? I sent an email in and then a week later I got a reply. 2 weeks to send a tech out. They did not offer me a loaner or any sort of help it was just too bad need to wait, they didn't care we had no fridge or freeze and lost all of the food in it. The tech that came out didn't even look at the fridge all he did was confirm that it was warm and not working, I knew this weeks ago. Apparently according to King & State he was not a LG technician. As once again I had to email them to get an update, eta on parts and this was their response "Based on the information on file, no parts were ordered as the technician who visited you isn't able to do this repair." I battled hard over this and not once did they ever contact me I had to contact them each time. The tech who is not able to do the repair said 4 weeks for part 2 weeks to reschedule a tech, I guess a tech who can do the repair. They told me "we've submitted a request to have this assigned to another technician. The option regarding you sourcing your own technician is in the event you're not willing to wait for this to be reassigned" So for this process the rules were I could hire and pay my own technician to come out and then get a quote then submit to King & State for approval and then if they approved it go ahead with the repair and pay it myself then submit for reimbursement which will take 6-8 business weeks to process. Of course I was not going to do this. Then some how I got an email that said this "The technician advised you're not willing to wait the time frame needed to order the parts and book and appointment to install them therefore we are offering you the pro-rated credit based on the warranty guidelines to assist you with replacing this unit. " Not sure who the technician was as as other the guy who was not qualified to do the repair we didn't take to anyone. So the kicker with the pro rate in store credit which I probably would have taken because I was so done with them was I could only use to buy a new fridge...oh and I would have to buy a new warranty! I said thanks no thanks I would buy elsewhere at this point so to go ahead and order the parts. Well it has now been 8 weeks since I told them to go ahead and order the parts. Have I heard from them, no. So once again I have had to go and contact them to get an update. Lets be honest I don't even think they order the parts as there sure wasn't a 2nd tech who ever came to look at it. I did purchase a new fridge from a different company who had inhouse techs and when I have an issue I deal directly with the store. DO NOT buy extended warranty from the Brick on their appliances it is not worth it and this is the worst warranty company to deal with they just want to take your money and hope you just go away! The best part is this off their website "You don't just buy appliances or electronics, you buy Peace of Mind™. We understand your family's needs, and that's why we've built our business on exceeding expectations for service, quality and value. If for any reason you're dissatisfied, we promise to do whatever we can to make you happy."
