I am the proud owner of a Cloramatic Chlorine Generator for my swimming pool. The initial cost was north of 2, 000 dollars. Since the installation in June 2003 I have invested an additional 2, 000 to keep it operating. In June of 2007 I replaced the Electrolytic Salt Cell at a cost of almost $700, at that time I called Jack Zurich, the Service Manager for the entire East Coast with my concerns of many, many service calls over the past 4 years. I was told by Jack Zurich "if in the future you have any more problems, I will help with replacement parts". Well 3 months ago I got the dreaded audible alarm indicating a problem with the system. I called Mr. Zurich at that time. He told me that "things don't last forever"! and no he wouldn't help me with anything! I currently have a system that has cost me close to $4, 000 dollars and doesn't work! I refuse to keep throwing money into a WORTHLESS product. The bottom line is BEWARE of anything Jandy Pool Products makes!

I agree completely. Jandy makes junk and will not honor thier warranty. I had one when the pool was built four and one half years ago. It quit working. It cost me $95 to have someone come out and tell me I needed a new cell. It cost me $499 replace. However, since they had redesigned it, I had to pay an additional $150 to have it replumbed and installed. This cell goes bad in March of 2010. They come out again. Another $95 to replace the bad one. Now, in December of this year, the new one goes bad. Another $95 to tell me I need a new one, 9 months after they put in a "new cell". I'm told because it was a replacement under waranty, there is no warranty on the "new" one. I call Jandy after speaking with Aussie Electric (they replaced the last one and did the replumbing. They told me I didn't clean it enough. I tell her I've been cleaning it on a weekly basis.) and they tell me I cleaned it too much and used too much acid on it. I inform the Jandy guy, I haven't used anything but water to clean it. He starts giving me a bunch of Pool service people in the area and tells me I will have to pay their service charge to come out, again. I advise against doing business with or buying anything from Jandy. I'm going to send a complaint to the Arizona and California Attorney General's offices.
