feb/March 2019 hire to repair roof on old small single story house (less than 3000 sq ft). He refused to provide Ms. Patten with a warranty or contract when asked. There are many irregularities (gaps) in the roofing sheets. Nail penetrations proliferate the sheets despite them being self bonding type. When the wind blows nails fall from the roof. Vast globs of black sealing compound oozes from the roof and falls to the earth. The job was done in cool wet whether (not 70 deg F or more dry whether specified in all sheet instructions).

Think twice before you hire this guy! He doesn't guarantee his work if it is beyond the one year warranty period.

I hired him to build a roof over my front porch in Feb. 2017. Within 3 years the roof that he built began to leak. I contacted him and to his credit he did come over and take a look at it without charging me; however, he attempted to place the blame for the leak on the home manufacturer and then tried to charge me another $1500 to fix something that was not the cause of the leak.

I had to bring in someone else to a look at my roof and he found that the leak was caused by Mr. Howell's failure to use a metal flashing where the new roof connected to the old roof. There was also no tar paper used in that area. We have had three hard rains since the other contractor worked on it and the roof is no longer leaking. I had to pay $300 for someone else to fix the shoddy work that was done by Mr. Howell. I requested a reimbursement for this from Mr. Howell and he refused because he only gave me a year warranty.
