I used Angie's List for replacement of my concrete driveway. I used J and R Masonry of Gurnee, IL. It was a nightmare from the day they showed up on August 28, 2023 until they left 6 days later on September 2, 2023. It started when the owner drove his front-end loader off the trailer and then it died on the driveway and stayed on my driveway for 2 days until the owner decided to fix it. The next issue was the electric jackhammers were spraying oil and grease all over my vinyl siding and J and R Masonry did not clean up the oil and grease off the siding. Next was the plate compactor/tamper it did not start, I showed one of the employees from J and R that there was no air filter in the above the carburetor and the spark plug needed to be replaced, I asked this employee to contact his boss (the owner of J and R) to purchase a spark plug and air filter. On Friday September 1 when the concrete truck showed up, the owner of J and R directed the concrete truck driver to drive off the city sidewalk and weight of the broke the sidewalk and now I'm responsible for the sidewalk. They also did not cover my vinyl siding for the overspray of concrete when they were pouring. They also sprayed concrete on my corvette which was in my garage. The owner did not order enough concrete to cover my driveway so they mix bag concrete to complete the job. Then they showed up on Saturday September 2 the owner attempted to saw cut the expansion joints I don't think he ever used a concrete saw, all of the saw cuts are crooked. They left on Saturday did not clean up the overspray for the concrete on vinyl siding my doors and windows. The owner of J and R has not contacted me for the cleaning of my siding, windows, garage doors, and the replacement of the sidewalk. He had not responded to my phone calls or me texts. He has "ghosted" me.
