Well I'm about to find out what kind of a person Derek Lipscomb, the Owner of Imlay City Auto Sales IS. I recently purchased a "one owner" with a "clean Carfax" from Derek last week. My father drove it home back to Farmington, at 68 to 70 mph we pick up a vibration in the rear.
Thinking it was a minor wheel imbalance, tok it over to Harold's Frame Shop in Novi, only to find out it has a "SEVERE BENT FRAME". So Derek, are you a man of Honor or just a run of the mill used car saleman? Only time will tell.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
Imlay City Auto will not allow you to take a car to an independent repair shop for evaluation. So, if you can't trust carfax and you can't trust the dealer, you better run like hell.
frames are suppose to be inspected. i thought that was a requirement for a dealership.
I Worked for Derek Lipscomb, and still do on occasion when he gives me a call, and I think that you are all Backwards in where you are pointing your blame. How is someone who buys and sells car supposed to know of a bent frame if the Carfax Came Clean? Obviously He trusted Carfax just as You did, so it sounds as if your complaint should be against Carfax. I have worked for many different dealerships and Derek does his best to sell an honest vehicle, at an honest price.. much more so then your average cardealership. That's why every car has a Warranty, which is rare for smaller dealer's like him. Im sorry to hear about this, but I assure you he had no prior knowledge of a bent frame.. You should probably contact Car Fax though because obviously they were wrong, and that is not uncommon.. They are a poor service and often times contain inadequate nformation.
