Both the AC and the Heat in a forced air system, operate utilizing the furnace blower to circulate the air through the house. This blower can also be utilized to simply filter the air in your house. It is part of your furnace. When that blower motor fails, you lose the ability for either the AC or the furnace to function properly. DTE is telling me that they don't cover AC units, so they can't fix it. So I told them it isn't the AC unit, it is part of the furnace that isn't functioning. They basically told me to go jump in lake. LaToya who was my contact was rude and would continually interrupt me. When I told her my furnace wouldn't turn on either, she told me they wouldn't service my furnace until either late August or September. What a crock. Not happy.
