Company: American Honda Motor Co., Inc.
Dealership: Herb Chambers Honda of Boston (Morrissey Boulevard, Boston, MA)
Service Advisor: Henry (Herb Chambers Honda Boston)
Complaint:
I am filing a complaint regarding serious service failures, misleading warranty information, and poor treatment by Herb Chambers Honda of Boston on Morrissey Boulevard and Honda Corporate.
My 2018 Honda Accord Hybrid suffered a sudden power system failure and would not start, requiring the vehicle to be towed to Herb Chambers Honda on February 7, 2026. Because there is an active fuel pump recall on this model, Honda replaced the fuel pump. However, the vehicle still did not start after the repair. I then authorized the dealership to diagnose the vehicle to determine the real cause of the failure.
Since that time, I have experienced excessive delays, lack of communication, and unclear explanations about what is wrong with my vehicle. My service advisor, Henry, has provided limited updates and no clear resolution timeline. Honda representatives have also given me conflicting information about warranty coverage, including contradictory statements about CARB emissions coverage and hybrid battery warranty protections in Massachusetts.
This situation has caused major hardship for my family. The dealership refused to provide a loaner vehicle, forcing me to pay for rideshare transportation while caring for my children. Despite repeated attempts to get answers, neither Herb Chambers Honda nor Honda Corporate has taken responsibility or provided a timely fix.
I believe Honda and this dealership are engaging in deceptive and unfair business practices by misrepresenting warranty coverage and failing to properly address a safety-related vehicle failure. I am seeking accountability, reimbursement for expenses, and a full resolution of this matter.
I will be filing complaints with the Massachusetts Attorney General, NHTSA, the FTC, and BBB Auto Line and will pursue all legal remedies available if this issue is not resolved promptly.
Country of complaint: United States
Desired outcome: seek immediate resolution, including warranty-covered repair, reimbursement of all out-of-pocket expenses, and consideration of repurchase or replacement under state and federal lemon law statutes if the defect cannot be promptly corrected.
