I purchased a timeshare with Grand Solmar, the salesperson stated that I could easily rent/sell it for a profit. He also assured me timeshares have equity. When I contacted Dulce Calleros the customer service representative and asked the market value of my timeshare she gave me information that disagree with the salesperson's sales pitch.
When I confronted her requesting an explanation, she simply stopped replying my emails. That said Grand Solmar not only sell their memberships based of false promises; but also have a terrible customer service.
Company Business Name: Grand Solmar
Country of complaint: Mexico
I received an email from Dulce Calleros from the customer service department. In regards of the selling of my timeshare, she is stating my unit can be sold once that it’s paid in full. I can’t find this anywhere on my contract and it wasn’t disclose at the presentation either.
I have received nothing but lies from Grand Solmar. I’m desperate to get out of this contract, I have tried to sell it, rent it, give it back to the resort but not even they want to take it.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
It's a huge scam, that's what it is... The only reason we bought at this "place" called Grand Solmar was because they said they would take over our other timeshare, through a company called Timeshare Equity Service. They said that "all we needed was to pay our dues every month"... We even paid another $900 to TES so they could transfer the title, only until TES told us we needed to PAY OFF what we owed at the other timeshare. This was one of the trickiest things any salesperson could do to anybody. They tricked us into believing that we could get rid of our other timeshare and since we would be paying less a month (we got their cheapest room without laundry) we thought it was a good deal. WE WERE FRAMED, and they will not return our $4000+ dollars. DO NOT BUY THERE. They are a bunch of liars.
This company is one of the most fraudulent developers in the timeshare industry. The only thing you can do is cancel your timeshare contract. I recommend you to read an article with good information about these fraudulent companies: http://www.timesharescam.com/blog/68-timeshare-scams-mexico-vs-us-why-are-there-more-situations-of-fraud-in-mexico/
They have been operating like this for years and years. They offer to take your other timeshare and when that partner company never finishes their paperwork Grand Solmar has it in writing that you are still bound to the contract regardless. They are fraudulent crooks and that is the bottom line.
