I received a  text from Ashley (Go Green Floor Care), who quoted a price of $250.00. Stated would get back to me when scheduled. A person named (Raul) shows up unannounced I explained no one told me you were coming out, and I need to reschedule. He was persistent and said it would only take an hour, and quoted me $360.00. I explained that is what was not quoted. He comes in and states I will give you a sample. He scrubbed the grout with a hand tool, this is what it will look like once I use the machinery. He was there for 2.5 hours, I am fortunate my animals did not get out of the house. He said no credit cards, because they will charge me a high fee, convinces me to give him cash. The floor looks the same, with dirty grout no improvement. I have spoken with the owner Shane [protected], several times, I have requested a refund many times, he states they do not do that but come out for a re-do. There have no accommodations made for them to come back out. Frankly, I just want a complete refund. I want them to be investigated for their unethical business practices

Desired outcome: Requesting a full refund.

I missed a lot of red flags, so I'm writing so you don't have to: They operate under multiple names. The pricing and description of services changed once the cleaner arrived. They over-measured my space by 61%. The van that arrived didn't have the company name and had no license plates, and the cleaning process chipped my floor grout, leaving it damaged.

I hired them to clean the entryway tile flooring and the kitchen counter grout at my parents' house. I clicked a Facebook ad for $75 off tile cleaning and sealing, which they did not ultimately honor.

How many company names? They texted me from "Go Green Floor Care" and "Go Green Carpet Cleaning", and sent website links to "Stainless Steamers" stainlesssteamers.com (with the extra "S" at the end) and "Stainless Steamer" (Facebook Page) listing a Los Angeles address. My payment receipt listed Stainless Steamer LLC in Las Vegas. When I asked for a business license they said it was under "Precision Carpet". The van was marked "We Clean Carpets". I interacted with two phone numbers [protected], and [protected].

The scheduler (Ashley) quoted one price over the phone, but the cleaner gave a different price. The description of the service didn't match between them, and the cleaner had no idea about the Facebook ad deal. The ad had shown the use of a machine. The actual grout scrub service was alkaline spray, and a brush on a long stick.

Ashley had said over the phone that they take cash, check, credit card or Zelle. The cleaner said he would only accept cash or card.

I had previously measured my space at 186 square feet (approx 200). The cleaner claimed it was 300 square feet and priced accordingly.

Meanwhile, our neighbor called concerned that the van parked in front of our house had no license plates: front or rear. We got a story, that made no sense, about how they were just switching plates and the new ones were arriving soon, and we were called crazy by Shane over the phone for being concerned.

The cleaner made an offhand comment about how the texture of the grout was sandy, and he didn't want to brush too hard to erode it... and later we found erosion.

When the cleaner left, the grout still looked pretty dark, but he said it would continue to lighten over the next 24 hours, and to his credit, it did. But because it was still drying, we avoided walking until the next day, which is when we got a closer look, and found a whole bunch of damage: big chips and erosion.

When I notified them of the damaged grout, Ashley and Dave argued that 1) it was impossible for the cleaning process to cause damage, 2) it must have already been chipped, and/or 3) it's old grout so, of course, it's going to chip if the brush gets into a tiny crack, but it's not their fault.

I considered asking Dave to patch/repair the grout, to hold them accountable for the damage, but then decided that I didn't want a company I don't trust, doing any further work on the home. My only recourse now is to warn others.

I discovered that the stainlesssteamers.com website domain name was established in Jan 15, 2023, so this company doesn't have much history.

When I try to google them, there are so many company names that sound alike. And this one is clearly trying to capitalize on conflation with the more well-known and reputable Stanley Steamer. Beware!

Thank you for sharing your story. I had a bad experience with them on March 10th. At the time I found 0 google search results for "go green floor care" leading to this company, but today I googled again and found your review, and it shares some characteristics with my own story. I wish I had never worked with them, and I'm probably going to write up my own story if this doesn't get resolved soon.

Did you find them through a Facebook ad? That's how I got sucked in.
