My wife and I were married 10/06/2007. We hired Geoffrey Cook to be our photographer based on pictures he took at my brother's wedding the Summer before (he was the photographer for this wedding as well). Geoffrey puts up a laptop slide show during the reception of pictures he has taken thus far in the day and my wife really enjoyed the style. As for cost, I thought he was high based on comparable photographers in the Menasha, Neenah, Appleton, Green Bay are of WI, but we really liked the albums he puts together and went with him.

The day of the wedding went well. My wife and I live out of state and had to travel a 1000 miles to get back to WI for out wedding (we're originally from WI and its easier for us to travel than everyone else). Everything went off without a hitch. Soon, we were back in VA and began trying to order our pictures.

Fastforward to Dec 2009 and we have had major setbacks. Our photographer has not responded to us in over 5 months. We do not know what the status is on our pictures we have ordered or our albums, both of which we paid for in full in 2007. Further, my brother has informed me that he has not yet received his pictures and has been getting no response from Geoffrey Cook either (he was married SUMMER 2006!).

I am not sure what else to do other than take legal action at this point. I was hoping I could just get the pictures I had paid for or I would settle for a CD with the pictures on them and a refund of my purchase price, which the interest he earned on it should more than make up for this debacle.

I strongly warn everyone looking for a photographer for any type of service to steer clear of Geoffrey Cook Studios or don't be surprised if he RUINS your wedding after the fact like he has done to us.

I was married in 2007 and hired Geoffrey as a photographer. He was and still is the best photographer I have ever gone through! He is a true artist and captures moments on camera that are beautiful and unlike anything I have ever seen. He is not your typical studio photographer, he is clever, creative and goes above and beyond to capture the perfect photo. I still use him as a photographer for anything. He now photographs my children and never seizes to amaze me with his talent.

First ..I don't know who these people are because the internet is great in letting everyone know you are upset..but the same site does not let the public know WHO is upset..including you..I'll sign this Geoffrey..but somebody who calls me once when I was on assignment, or my ex-assistant lets it slides by and all of a sudden i'm the devil...but you can blast me all you want here without saying who you are and it's okay..I most likely never even worked for you for all we know..I didn't try to make it sound like it was OK in the last post...did I? Spend a little time looking at my website and contacting ME instead of ranting on a website that makes money out of making people look bad..Or hiring Family Lawyers that want blood and live for it...I only want to get the best for my clients..there are people, however, that will not forgive or forget..and I'm sorry for them..because I try to better myself by admitting my faults..you attack! Brilliant..!

What the hell does you losing money by switching previous customers from traditional to digital have anything to do with these two customers not getting their pictures from their weddings.
Your post in no way offers an explanation for your failure to provide these people with their photos. And one of your customers had their wedding over 4 years ago at this point.
What are you talking about? Making a huge mistake by not giving clients all available options? You post does not make sense and you are NOT addressing the real issue at hand. Where are the wedding pictures these ppl paid for?

90% of the wedding clients I had this year received their albums within 1 month of their wedding. Yes..I made a huge mistake in the past by not setting time limits and giving my clients all available options and it bit me hard. I've had many clients coming back with weddings from over 6 years ago to finally get their books done and with the change from traditional to Digital it's been a very expensive and money losing proposition for me to complete them, but I have been trying. I'm not excusing or saying that the client's complaint is not valid..I'm trying.
