Customer service representatives are very poite over the phone.
Except that I stayed on hold to complete the survey and both hung up on me before I could do that.
Freedom Life "insurance" changed my card numbers and the name of the plan and never informed me that this occurred. The website is horrendous to access, always has been since 2021.
I had submitted a lab claim (which they never paid, and never will) giving my original card information (had called about this a few times); original card (not the update) was confirmed and no information was shared with me during prior phone calls about my member # change!
My goal was to be hired full time with in benefits when I moved to this state in 2021, but that never occurred. This insurance was supposed to be very temporary, but I had to hold on to it until I could become eligible for Medicare.
My original card (didn't know my information had changed since? ) had been considered invalid by a few places. I had called customer service prior to the date of this review and was not at all notified that my member # had been changed , and my plan name (not the plan content) had, as well. I also noticed that there was an odd and invalid request to me acknowledging my change of banking information.
I was assured that these issues had been resolved and "don't worry."
I do not trust this company but an thankful I will not have the insurance much longer before I turn 65, thank you God.
Recommendation: DO NOT CONTRACT WITH THIS INSURANCE COMPANY
The 'company' changed my member # and name of plan. Said they both emailed me and mailed me cards (date they did this is unknown)- my card deemed invalid. Discovered I have a new member # today (7/16).
Website is horrendously difficult to access.
Told me "not to worry" about message in secure online message that I requested a bank change (I didn't do this).
That is exhausting, and I am so sorry you have been carrying this confusion for years. You deserve clarity. Here is something practical: call them one last time and ask for the "Member ID Change History" department, not general support. Demand a written letter emailed to you with your current ID, plan name, and effective dates for your records. Also, file a complaint with your state's Department of Insurance online, because changing your ID without notice is not okay. You are almost free of them, but for now, keep using your new ID with every provider and confirm it every time you call. You have been so patient, and relief is coming soon.
