FLAIR Magazine contracts individuals from all walks of life to work in its sales department as senior account executives. I was hired as an 18 year old without a college degree and minimal experience. Calls are made by us to secure prospects and then we are asked to individually drive all over Colorado to meet with potential clients. Pay is supposedly commission based. There is no base pay. There is no gas compensation. There is an "expense allowance" of $200/week if and only if you bring in at the very least $2, 000/week to the company. You are not paid in advance for the driving. Any pay is dependent on your sales. Despite being contracted and only being paid through a minimal commission, all of the "employees" (we were called employees even though we were contracted) are expected to be in the office 8 a.m. - 5 p.m. with absolutely zero pay for office time. Martin Gondra is the publisher of the magazine and he contracts his labor yet expects full time employment. Contracting and full time employment are generally mutually exclusive. Moreover, as an 18 year old girl, I was sent around to meet with old men who at times made passes on me. When I complained, I was encouraged to flirt more to make a sale. As a sales team member I was exploited to the maximum degree -- I was never paid any commission even though I made one sell of $5500, never compensated for gas, and sexually objectified.

Martin Adeo Gondra is a crook, a thief and a criminal!

I had a chance to witness Martin Gondra pulling off all the trickery, lies and unfairness on the employees. I was present when Martin Gondra showed unfair business practices, fraudulent behavior, his inappropriate behavior towards women employees in the form of open Sexual Harassement - all of that at the time that I worked for him in Denver, Colorado.

I am surprised that there are so few complaints on the Internet about his thievery – I know that a lot of former employees are still trying to collect their unpaid checks dealing with him directly – but it’s a waste of time and energy – he will not pay a cent! He hires desperate people, who are looking for any jobs – and in return for their good work – steals from them! I am also a victim of Martin Gondra’s fraud – he owes me money in the same manner that he owes thousands of dollars to many of his former employees.

I am also surprised that authorities did not stop this crook – it’s high time to put him in jail or make him pay to all the unpaid former employees. Martin Gondra is moving from state to state, avoiding fair punishment and this thief needs to be stopped!

I know for a fact that "ihateimmaturepeople" quit not long after posting the above comment. It took him about a month to pay what the employee was owed and that was only after the employee had police escort to the office to demand wages. Martin will say whatever it takes to keep hardworking employees on board to make money on his end but fails to follow through with pay. This employee was stellar and indeed brought in good contracts, it is really unfortunate that this employee, much like many unknowingly employees and clients, got hoodwinked by him. He has now left Denver, after leaving a nasty trail of bad business, and moved on to Houston. Houston businesses, models, and anyone considering working for him, PLEASE do your research on this man. There are many unhappy clients who never saw their ads or campaigns. There is no "luxury lifestyle", just a man who is desperate to get to the top and doesn't care who he steps on to get there. There is no "18 years of success in LA, Phoenix, Vegas, Denver", just a trail of failures. This is just the business aspect of it. He does sexually objectify women and there has been many instances where he claimed a woman "should only wear skirts or dresses" and be "sexy" in the office. Arcanetruth's complaint is pretty spot on and I firmly believe the response from Stephanie Sands is a fake.

I was hired not too long ago, and in my interview with Martin, I was told upfront that this position is STRICTLY commission based with the opportunity of receiving travel expense for reaching a weekly sales goal. Martin was VERY straightforward and respectful. He emphasized that this is a hard-working job with the potential of making LOTS of money--the more you work, the more potential for making more money. I work very hard at my job, and I have recently landed some amazing accounts, which have more than paid off for my hard work. I DO NOT APPRECIATE hearing lazy, immature, and obviously entitled youngsters showing complete disrespect and disregard for those who actually know how to do this job and do it RIGHT!

sounds like no this gondtra character is getting a way with profiting out of zero liability "employment" with no mileage compensation or base pay just one hundred % commission.. which would be OK (tho not smart if he wants to have a stable + successful company) had he not not required an all work day office presence. in an economy like ours this seems an outright fraudulent abuse of labor

It is very unfortunate that this 18 year old girl is getting away with posting these absurd comments on a public forum.
I was in the office when she was terminated by Mr Gondra, just a few days after being hired, and I must say that I couldn't agree more with his decision.
From day one we all in the office noticed a strange behavior, from her weird comments on adultery with a police officer, to the way she accused everyone in the office the day she misplaced her laptop (she ended up finding it on her desk under a pile of magazines, right under her nose).
Everything about this young woman was quite disturbing, starting with the way she dressed and the way she talked about her personal affairs.
I have worked for Flair magazine for several months prior to Aisha, and I must say that I have never seen anything even close to what she's claiming. Mr. Gondra has always been a very respectful business man, and I have nothing but good things to say about him and his company. FLAIR is a great place to work, where we all are friends and work closely in bringing our careers to the next level.
I also must add that Mr. Gondra is a fair individual, always emphasizing the importance of respect and discipline in the workplace.
