On August 24, 2022 I needed to place a flight to Houston, TX from Dayton, OH from the 1st-8th of October.

I do not fly very often, once maybe twice a year, so I rely on Expedia to get me set up with good flights. Like on any travel website, you put in info on where to go, so I specially wanted Hobby airport, and not Bush airport. Hobby was much closer to where my relatives live thus a quick pickup. I found the flights I wanted, paid for the tickets, printed out the itinerary, and noticed in small parenthesis it said to BUSH airport. I couldn't believe that Expedia would show Bush flights along with Hobbies. So I cancelled that, in which I was informed it would take 7-10 days to get the refund. Not happy. So I go back to flight times on Expedia, and noticed going to Hobbies price would be starting at $450 and up, but flights to Bush ranged from $220-$280 which didn't make since. Regrettably, I called my relatives in the Houston area, and asked if they would pick my up at Bush even though it was an Hour+ away(Hobby was on 15 minutes away). Paid for the flight, printed out the itinerary, and noticed on the Untied airlines flights that have now what's called "Basic Economy" (instead of Economy which now cost $99 to get). What's that I thought and looked it up on the United website and it states, "If you do not meet these requirements and bring a carry-on, you will be required to check it at the gate and pay the bag fee plus an additional $25." I merely assumed that all carry-on on any airlines company meant no charge. Not only is there a baggage fee, but now basically a $25 penalty charge for doing it. I read more and found out that for $99 extra, I don't pay the baggage/penalty fee, plus I get my own economy seat assignment. Not happy with that I went ahead and paid that so now I'm almost out to $400. On August 26th I get an email not only from Expedia but United airlines as well telling me that my October 8th arrival time back to Ohio has been changed from 10:06 pm to 11:41 pm which means that when my daughter picks me up that most likely it will be midnight before I set foot into her car, plus another 35 minutes to get home. Both relatives on both sides are not happy with my arrival flight situations, and I try not to upset my families. This has been very upsetting for all persons involved.

Desired outcome: I would like either a complete refund.(with no late penalties on the refund) If not that a least a refund from Basic Economy to Economy at no charge, and a arrival flight better than the very late time in to Ohio.
