Expedia and American Airlines review: I would like the $400

In October of 2021 me and wife took a trip thru Expedia to key west from Michigan. This was our first trip in many years and on way returning we went in to airport in key west and told the lady at check in (as she was the only one) we were gonna go outside for a few minutes and she said no problem you have time! We were also 1 hour 15 min early prior to flight taking off. When we came in 10 min later she was gone and security said she went to the counter for baggage and we couldn’t go thru! Gonna miss flight along w 5 other people! We had to stay another night and rent hotel and rent car drive to Miami to fly home next day and pay over $1000 extra we didn’t have! AA only offered $200 for me and $200 for wife for future flight thru Expedia?! Well now my wife can’t even fly because she has brain aneurysm and both AA and Expedia are giving me the run around about the $400 accredited to Expedia for other services so I can at least use or even just refunding the $?! It’s ridiculous and uncalled for
