I have some plain advice, go somewhere else. Dr. Eppley deceived me and has left me with damaged nerves and not so good looking results. I trusted this surgeon and liked him that, was the reason I chose him. A choice I regret. Don't make the mistake I have because you can't take it back. Don't be taken in by his personality and charm.
Plastic surgery is elective so take your time choosing a great plastic surgeon. Don't go by what they publish but what work they have done on people that you can see with your own eyes. Forget the personality, go to a doctor who will give you great results. Go to a doctor who has operated on people you know and have seen their results up close and personally, don't just hear about a surgeon on the Internet and trust somebody through an e-mail. It might be good to learn about surgeons from an e-mail or post but if you don't know this person in true life, take their advice very lightly. Take your time finding a surgeon, go SLOW.
I had my surgery at Meridian Plastic Surgery. Just like Eppley, it appeared to be good on the first look, but the care I received was substandard and negligent. I should have listened to my mother when she told me not to judge a book by it's cover, boy, was she right.
Dr. Eppley has been getting away with injuring patients for a long time. I don't know what kinds of connections this guy has, but he was recently found not guilty of malpractice by a review panel in a case where he was undeniably negligent and the woman almost died.
I think these review panels are protecting incompetent, negligent surgeons, especially the way the deal with med/mal in Indiana. Eppley is greed driven first, and ego driven second. His numerous "articles" online are just words he pays someone to write under his name. He can't even identify the anatomy correctly, a shortcoming he proved in his description of Lucille Iacovelli's surgery. He named an entirely different muscle was involved rather than the platysma.
How many lives will he destroy before his peers take action?
I hope someone will go and shoot this Dr. Barry Eppley in the face. That will be justice served.
We the public must do something about these quacks out there. There are way too many doctors. And way too many plastic surgeons. We do not know their grades in medical schools and for all we know, he may barely pass medical school. He can be almost flunking medical school and still be called a doctor. That sound too scarry to me.
This Dr. Barry Eppley is one of the worst. I already reviewed some of Lucia's videos and this quack committed surgical rape on her . He is a white collar criminal. He is a crimminal. Anyone who uses his service is in high chance of being deformed by this super idiot.
He distroyed her face, her health and her life. Dr. Barry Eppley should be in jail.

If you Google Dr. Barry Eppley's name there's plenty out there and lots of it very bad by different people. You have to go beyond page 1 in the search.

He really destroyed this poor lady. It's almost too awful to look at all those pictures, but anyone who might have him do a face lift on them should see them.

Thank you for sharing your experience and your excellent advice on choosing a surgeon. Like you, I was taken in by his "nice guy" personality. You make a very good point regarding the false perception many people have in thinking a surgeon knows (and cares) what he is doing simply because he has published papers in high profile medical journals.
Dr. Eppley is also adept at "working the system" by engaging in clinical trials funded by drug and medical device companies. Doctors reap plenty of $$$$ from this. An FDA investigation uncovered his violation of federal regulations meant to protect patients. He did not obtain consent or follow up these patients after using them as guinea pigs to line his pockets with Big Pharma $$$$.
I also found the care at Meridian Plastic Surgery Center to be dangerously negligent...
