This a complaint about damaging dental treatment I received from Dr. Thanathon Thungtong, prosthodentist and Prof. Somchai, Implantologist in Dental Time Dental Clinic, Bangkok on 10 December 2009.
I lived in Thailand from 10 December 2008 to 15 January 2010. Towards the end of that time, unfortunately, I lost two teeth and needed to have titanium implants and crowns installed.
I went to Dental Time Dental Clinic in Bangkok and explained to Dr. Thanathon Thungtong, prosthodentist, and Prof. Somchai, Implantologist, that I most likely would not be able to stay the three months after the titanium implants were installed to have the crowns made and installed.
Note: Between the instillation of titanium implants and the making and installing of the porcelain crowns three months must elapse.
Both, Dr. Thanathon Thungtong and Prof. Somchai said that there was no problem because the Zimmer titanium implants which they will install are know all over the world and that I will be able to have the porcelain crowns made and installed in every country.
So, with Dr. Thanathon Thungtong and Prof. Somchai assurance that I would be able to have the porcelain crowns made and installed in every country, on 10 December 2009 I paid Dr. Thanathon Thungtong and Prof. Somchai 76, 000 B and they installed two Zimmer titanium implants.
On 15 January 2010 I and my wife had to leave Thailand (alas) because my wife received a new mission in the Philippines.
When the three months elapsed from the instillation of the Zimmer titanium implants I when to many dentists in the Philippines only to discover that Zimmer titanium implants were/are unknown in the Philippines and crowns could not be made for the Zimmer titanium implants in the Philippines.
In August 2010 I and my wife moved to Mauritius again because my wife had and has a new mission here.
Again, I went to many dentists in the Mauritius only to discover that Zimmer titanium implants are unknown in the Mauritius and crowns could not be made for the Zimmer titanium implants in the Mauritius.
Dr. Thanathon Thungtong and Prof. Somchai of Dental Time Dental Clinic do not reply to my e-mails asking for a refund of my wasted 76, 000 B.
This situation is worse than nothing because having the Zimmer titanium implants (for which the porcelain crowns cannot be made) means that no other implants and be installed and I will be, until I die, without two teeth :( !
STRONGLY ADVISE NOT GOING TO THE THIEVES Dr. Thanathon Thungtong, prosthodentist and Prof. Somchai, Implantologist in Dental Time Dental Clinic, Bangkok, Thailand!

Dr. Thanathon Thungtong, prosthodentist and Prof. Somchai, Implantologist of Dental Time Dental Clinic, Bangkok are LIARS, PRICE-GOUGERS & DISHONORABLE!
LIARS because both Dr. Thanathon and Prof. Somchai emphatically insisted before I decide to have theM install the above described implants in my jaw that I “DEFFINATELY WOULD NOT HAVE TO RETURN TO THAILAND” to have the crowns made and installed on top their Zimmer implants because “Zimmer implants are used in all over the world and in EVERY country you [I] will be able to have crowns made for our [their] Zimmer implants”!
PRICE-GOUGERS because Dr. Thanathon and Prof. Somchai charged me TWICE as much as the implants cost in the Philippines!
DISHONORABLE because if Dr. Thanathon and Prof. Somchai had made and honest mistake in asserting that “Zimmer implants are used in all over the world and in EVERY country you [I] will be able to have crowns made for our [their] Zimmer implants” then they would refund my 76, 000 B / USD 2, 483 (exchange rate on 28/02/11)!
STRONGLY ADVICE NOT USING THE LYING, PRICE-GOUGING & DISHONORABLE SERVICES OF DR. THANATHON THUNGTONG, PROSTHODENTIST AND PROF. SOMCHAI, IMPLANTOLOGIST & DENTAL TIME DENTAL CLINIC, BANGKOK!
I’m Dr.Thanathon. Actually, I don’t want to contact to this patient anymore…but I will tell the truth, Mr. Chungnoi (Marco Polo) went to my clinic in 2008 for some dental work that time I tried to refer him to the best dental University that I graduated and Prof. Somchai was the lecturer there. He went there but still comeback to me asking for the treatment. I ‘m not only fixed his teeth but also gave him the cheaper cost cheaper than Thai patient as he requested. I gave my private cell phone number for consultation (I have never given the number to any patients before) I answered his call every time even I were busy with my patient. The visit that Prof. insert the zimmer implant we talked and explained everything that he had to comeback again in 2-4 months later for the crown, that he was OK. But he didn’t.
The Zimmer brand is well-known and worldwide use that every implantologist should know this brand even in Philippine because every implant conference the zimmer always be the big sponsor. I had many patients that did the first stage zimmer implant here and go back to their country to have the crown part with no problem (except the cost is very expensive)
When he arrived Philippine, he mail me to complaint me that the cost for the implant in Philippine is very cheap. I told him to ask about the brand and what country the implant made. Here he did the implant with the best implantologist in Thailand (He is the president of implant asso. In Thailand) and I chose the one of the best implant brand for him. For the abutment and crown part with on nickel I charge only 12, 000 baht for him that I think this is the cheapest price in Thailand (but he still complaint that very expensive!) Then, he mail me to send the transfer abutments to Philippine. I sent it by Express Thai mail first, but he want by Fed Ex so I send again I had to pay twice that cost almost 8000 baht for 4 abutment and the express mail 2400 baht but that was OK . Few days after he sent and e mail to me to complaint about the declaration fee at custom there. That was my fault? In my opinion I think the implantologist there can put the crown for him because there are many brand copy the zimmer brand that it compatible or can replace to the zimmer one but they don’t want to do, the same as many dental clinic or hospital he went before came to my clinic. First time, I thought if he come to Thailand again I will refer to other clinic to help him even him mail me with impolite word, but this time he call me the thief! So I will not help him anymore. He would like to have the best treatment with the cheapest price. That sounds good but I pretty sure that he can not find qualify dentist that give him the cost cheaper than me. The only thing that I think it‘s my fault is accept him to be my patient. He think that the mail will discredit me and my clinic, but I don’t care I know myself and I trust that all of my patients can feel that. Not only my patients but also my friends, my professors know me the best. If he still do like this, I’m sure that he will not meet the good person, doctor, dentist, and friend. No one treat him sincerely…..This is the last message for him.
