Damac Hills 2 review: Scam. Dirty. Disrespect. More hassle than it's worth.

A week before moving in officially our water was leaking causing a 3000 AED water bill. Then our water tank was broken and we didn't have proper running water and it took a week to get damac maintenance to come out and fix the issue. It took another week for them to get the part they needed. And another week for them to come back and fix something they broke. Our water was never fixed. My husband had to call damac maintenance white spot many times and every time was taken around in circles. It wasn't until he started asking for names and telling them he was going to go to their boss about this ridiculous situation that people suddenly knew how to help us and were able to help us.

They know how to do their job and they are capable of doing their job, they just choose to run you in circles and make you wait unreasonable amounts of time before they do anything about anything. We had about a month left of our warranty and no one wanted to look at or fix anything until AFTER the warranty was over and we had to pay out of pocket and I've seen other people say the same thing in the damac hills 2 group on Facebook. It seems they are purposely waiting to look at anything not even fix yet just look until your warranty it over.

We ended up calling an outside company as we didn't have proper running water for three weeks. The outside company we called came and fixed it that day. We are still waiting for damac to refund us a little over 2000 AED for the water bill 4 months later. The only reason we are getting the refund now is that my husband had to ask for names and tell them he is going to speak to the boss. As soon as he did that, they could suddenly put the refund in process after a month of waiting.

During all the rain earlier this year, damac was completely flooded to the point cars were breaking down due to water getting in the cars. People had to park their cars on the side of the road and on the sidewalks and walk home. We are getting violations for having our gas tanks out in the open next to our front door, which was never a problem until after it was raining and damac was flooded. it seems all residents are getting violations for one thing or another.

Security is a joke here. They were very disrespectful when we asked them about our violation. They just let anyone inside the clusters. People are having things stolen from their backyards and there isn't proper security cameras around for anyone to do anything. The already too small car park at the community center mall is littered with trash from damac maintenance. Loads of car parking spots are brought blocked off due to ongoing construction that is just making it harder to part due to smaller parking spaces.

Many of the pet friendly shops have been kicking pets and their owners out of the shop because they don't want pets inside. They have been kicking service animals out of the shops. The service dogs were on leash and sitting next to their owner minding their own business, which I'm pretty sure I read somewhere kicking a service dog out who is doing nothing wrong is illegal here. We were promised luxury and instead we have only had headache. We knew there would be some issues since it's so cheap to live here but we never would have moved here if we knew it was worse than what it's worth. I wouldn't even recommend my worst enemy to live here. Living here is a scam
