Cox Communications sold a bad debt ($341),an

account someone opened in my

name (fraud/IDTheft) to 2 collection agencies

simultaneously.Convergent Outsourcing and

Credence Resource Mgt. Not only was

someone able to impersonate me but selling the

same debt to 2 different agencies is Double

Jeopardy. This account was apparently opened

June 9 2020. I don’t know what services the thief received (cable internet or phone) but they knew my address. They couldn’t have had anything that required a technician to come & hook up because I would have encountered them. I believe the thief was able take equipment from Cox Communications, perhaps planning on hooking it up themselves, wherever it was they were. Both Credence & Convergent reported the same account/balance as new, or Date Opened, the following June 2021 and again June 15 of this year. That’s 3 separate times. June 2020, June 2021 & June 2022, & the same $341 amount, only a few days off from each other each year. The two collection agencies continually report the account to the bureaus as

new. Credence Resource has become so aggressive at harming my credit it feels like a personal attack. Both collections ($341 fraud acct) are “High Impact”which devastates my scores. I've tried disputing several times but all the bureaus do is confirm the name and dollar amount match. They don't require proof that the account was opened by the real ME. I decided to hire a credit repair/dispute company August 3rd, last month, which isn't cheap.Within a month (August-September 2022) the company sent out 2 rounds of dispute letters. The response from Credence Resource MA was reporting the account again, as opened June 15 2022, same account and $341 balance. September 5th 2022 Credence reported it again. I submitted a complaint to the Consumer

Financial Protection Agency. So far the one complaint against Convergent

Outsourcing. Pending this last attempt to dispute for deletion by way of this platform, I am prepared to issue my complaint against Credence Resource MA to CFPB and it will include harassment and fraud by the collection agency. Next, this will be handled in civil court. Upon receiving my complaint to the CFPB, Convergent Outsourcing responded explaining they were no longer going to be handling the account and they would remove it. However, they have not deleted from all 3 bureaus.I also submitted a complaint with the FBI. When I was at the police station they told me fraud/IDTheft needs to go to the FBI.

I tried dealing with Cox Communications via chat this past July. The first representative told me I had the right person to help me with the fraud then he asked for my customer number…which I of course I don't have being I am not a customer. I was transferred 2 more times to

sales so they could “upgrade my service”, again, I don’t/didn’t receive any services from Cox, then another dept at which time they

closed the chat abruptly. All Cox will say is all of

their demands for me to show I didn't open the

account. Police report, notarized documents, affidavits, putting the burden of proof on the

victim is wrong.How do I prove I didn't do

something? I don't even know what the criminal

did or received & I tried to file a police report but was denied.

My name is Gretchen D. and this is an ongoing

nightmare for me, right here in the Las Vegas

valley.

The worst part is not knowing who’s doing this. An individual getting away with Identity Theft & Fraud each of these 3 years for the same $341 amount, or a collection agency named Credence Resource MA?

Desired outcome: Immediate deletion of $341 fraudulent account(s) from all 3 credit bureaus & proof(s) of who’s behind all of this. Because it was not me.
