.

The most disrespectful costumer service on the web or in the real world. sent defective products. NONE of my phone calls were returned. after spending hours writing and sending emails one or two were returned with the content of the email amounting to a few words. nothing was done to correct the problem. the company simply didn't return phone calls nor emails.

Do NOT purchase from this company. they have 100s of complaints with the better business bureau and dozens more the web itself. worst of all they sell extremely poor quality products

I truly don’t know how they manage to cover up their frauds from new customers with the number of dissatisfied and wronged customers.

here is their BBB information:

I too am having trouble with this company. I wish I had done more research about this company before buying our futon there.

My situation is that we bought a futon last year which has a 10 year warranty. We use it almost never. Probably 10 to 15 times its been used in the past year. Last weekend, a friend is in town and we pull it out and it just falls to pieces. Two pieces broke off, including one where the metal on the frame actually split in two. We have no children or pets that jump on this futon or otherwise could damage it, and as mentioned, we never use it. It's solely for when guests come in town.

So I call Cottonwood and email. I get 2 very unprofessional emails in response. Poorly typed and formatted, indicating to me that this is a company that doesn't have a clue. They refer me to 'technical support' and tell me to call them. I would have hoped they may have been the ones to call me since I inquired several times just to get any response. I called 'technical support' to find that Cottonwood Futons has a pretty inept customer service center. I told my story to Cottonwood Futons on the phone. The guy put me on hold. Another picked up and I said that I was already being helped. The guy said that the person I was talking to had to take another call that was very important that he'd been waiting for all day.

Hey, thanks! I'm glad I'm so important too. So I told my story AGAIN to this new guy, and even sent him photos. He said that they would replace the parts, BUT then we get an invoice for roughly $100 to cover the cost of shipping and handling.

I cry foul and say that this is obviously the result of poor craftsmanship, because we don't even use this futon form Cottonwood Futons. They say, sorry. We're not charging you for the replacement parts. Well no kidding! The last time I checked, a warranty meant that if something went bad with it, that you fixed it for free. Not the case here. I may as well buy a new futon for the cost its going to incur to have me fix this one.

I've dealt with several unprofessional people via email and phone on this now and am disgusted. I filed online with the BBB as well. If you're searching for a futon online, DO NOT BUY FROM COTTONWOOD FUTONS. Go someplace else. Your futon will break no matter how little you use it and their service is a ripoff.

Cottonwood Futons is not a reputable company, and I wish I had done my research on them more before purchasing from them or I never would have bought it. It doesn't surprise me to see so many complaints with the BBB and online on various forums. Cottonwood Futons is a bad business.

NEVER DO BUSINESS WITH COTTONWOOD.

THey shipped me a futon cover that was different color than what was displayed on the website and then would NOT send me return shipping label and also tried to make me pay a 20% restock fee AND pay for thier shipping to me of the original! Follow the other reviews out there and NEVER do business with COTTONWOOD.

Recently I bought the Fiji futon from Cottonwoods. Right after I put it together and sat on it I relized the back cushion slides under the back frame and you end up resting your head on the top fram bar. I had to fix this problem by buying plywood and putting it inbetween the back cushion and the back frame. After using for a couple mounths the wooden frame started to crack and now every frame has split. Now it sinks everytime you sit and there is no support for the buttom. Worst product I have ever boughten, this people are nothing more than scam artists. However let me ease people's minds with this quote, "An ethically bankrupt company, will eventually become bankrupt itself." The way Cottonwood does its business will eventually lead it to destruction. Im think about calling the local news channel to do a report on the scam myself.

Never order from this company. It took 6 months for my son to finely get his order. After putting it together it broke within a week. They also blocked him from calling customer service. Terrible company.

Just heard them on Ed Shultz, "Ression busting".

Being from Wisconsin. I really appreciate MADE IN THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA (Actually Made in the CONTINENTAL UNITED STATES) Not Guam, no the American Samoa which can label "Made int he USA" through a technical loophole for slave labor goods.

I have had GREAT experience with them, I live about 800 miles North of Madison. Haven't had to deal with Customer Support. But if you are stupid enough not to read the terms of service, you deserve websites like this. You just plead your ignorance, and expect what? Pitty? READ, it states CLEARLY there is a20% restock. it states CLEARLY whats covered under the warranty. I bet, if you bough from Ikea or Walmart you would just take it as is, but since its from an ACTUAL American company, you ### ### ###. Judy. can you back this up with EVIDENCE?

I own a futon store, I build quality futon frames, the best you can buy. I also sell import frames, I question the so called frames made in America, If they are they made exactly like all import frames. cheap low quality thin wood, they use lower grade wood for seat and back slats. Every on line futon company sell these frames. The seat slats 1 3/4 inch wide up to 2 3/4 inch wide, very weak and i have seen many broken slats. The slats are just stapled. We glue and screw our frames. The front and back stretcher bar is 2 3/4 inch wide and 1 inch thick, These 2 skinny boards hold all your weight when sitting or sleeping. I sell these frames because they are on the cheaper price scale and its what some people can afford. Our frames start at $750 with 60% more wood. The on line stores sell junk i have seen 100 s of broken frames and have many customers tell me there broken frame story's. read the return policy's they don't like to give you a refund. Do your research. I know what I'm talking about I've been in business for 22 years.

Horrible, Horrible company. Ripoff to charge you for warranty parts. They also insinuate any fault is yours, the way to put togehter, etc. I have had my Futon less than 1 year, 4 replacement parts already, piece of junk! DO NOT BUY from these people. They are snotty, rude, do not answer phone calls...and I could go on and on.

i purchased a futon mattress thru overstock.com not knowing the manufacturer, but based on the description and customer reviews of this mattress. it came with a 10 year warranty, and i purchased an additional accidental damage warranty ie; tears, burns, bodily fluid, stains, spills, etc. in following the manufacturers instructions to flip the mattress often when new, i noticed that the thread from one of 24 tufts, had come loose. after further inspection, it was not loose, but torn, and just hanging in there. i made 4 phone calls to customer service before finally reaching a person, who said basically, i should strap it to the roof of my car, wrap it in garbage bags and card board, and take it to fed ex, and mail it back at my cost in order to get a replacement. unless you have a car that will hold a full size, 10" thick mattress to put it in, or have a truck or van, does this seem practical to you ? really, wrap it in garbage bags and take it to fed ex ? i would get laughed out of the place. i think i'll have it repaired, and screw cottonwood and their products. sad to hear so many people have been screwed by them. Epic Furnishings is the name overstock.com gave me to call about warranty issues. Only after i finally talked to a person did the name Cottonwood come up. too many hands in the cookie jar. and to pass the buck too. jerks !

I'm having the same experience with Cottonwood of poor workmanship coupled with extremely rude or nonexistent customer support. I think I'm going to give up rather than keep banging my head against this particular wall. It's not that hard to provide at least minimal customer service, but there's none.

I purchased the LA Futon from this company. The add stated complete futon and showed a beautiful cover... When I received the shipment which was only the shell of the futon. I paid almost $300 for a futon shell! Upon phoning the company, Colleen very rudely advised they do not take complaints, hung up on me and immediately place a block on my phone number... Sounds like Colleen has this down. This company is an embarrassment to any company which wants to attract internet customers. Shameful in their deceptive advertising. Criminal in their after the purchase service.
