Basically, it is same as what Erlinda described they get in contact with you through career builder as an employer hiring people for Advertising Agent for the amount of $65K/year?. The requirements for the job is to be a US citizen, to have a computer with an email address which you have to check daily, must be over 20 years old and must have 2-3 hours free during the week (mainly in the evening/non-business hours) for communication. Then they ask for personal information like your name, full address, two email addresses, and a phone number. One day after I sent my information, a Patricia Moss emailed me letting me know that a check of $1399.00 was in the mail and to contact them when I received the check. In a week, the check arrived they then go on to let you know to place the check into your account and give you directions on what they would like you to do. They gave me two websites where they claimed they spoke to other advertising agents to place the ad there were www.interplacement.com, easyjobsemployment.com. I checked out the two websites and realized the same thing as Erlinda it was poorly put together. I even called the numbers they gave me there was no answer, and to really top it off I went to a cash checking place where they confirmed that it was a scam. Unfortunately for them, I do not normally put checks into my account unless I know who it is from, so they did not get anything from me. Up to today they been emailing me about the money. The names that are involved in this scam are Zeman Mozes, Patricia Moss, Katja Kuhnert, and Tracey A. Johnson.

Names and Emails associated seem to be: Dylan Heath, Dylan A. Heath, Dylan A Heath at pennihlo@hotmail.com. Is this short for penniless ho? Not sure, but could be :) Why would a reputable company that's been in business since 1986 supposedly be using a hotmail address? The whole thing makes you squirm.

I don't know if your info is ok or not, but for the future here's a couple of tips that have helped me. I always ask a bunch of questions before I give them even my phone number. I got an email from Optimus Group that said they needed my phone number to make sure I was available the whole day. For a secret shop that takes maybe a half an hour? Sounds fishy to me...as in fishing for my info.

If they got my resume off Careerbuilder, Monster, etc. chances are they'd already have all the info they are asking for again. That's probably not how they found us after all. Probably from one of their other scam buddies they got our email instead.

Usually they want to "transfer" money or pay you directly into your account...RED FLAG! Now, I always ask them to send a check or cash instead. They will most like balk at this, which isn't a good sign either. If they do send a check, take it to a cash checking place and they can check the authenticity for you.

Hope that helps some next time

I just sent my resume/contact information to a Optimus Group Inc ad on Careerbuilder, then I read this!

Since they just have my contact info/address and work history, am I okay? I know to destroy anything they send me and block them if they email me. Will I be okay? Can they do anything with the information I gave them as a person looking for work?
