I had a bad experience with Dr Jay Calvert. He did a facelift and revision rhinoplasty. His work was horrible. The worst experience in my life. I discussed with Dr Calvert the facelift which he stated that it would be a traditional facelift and the incision would start in the temple area hidden in the hairline. He did the facelift starting infront of the ears to the jaw line. He did not do the temple nor eye area nor upper cheek area. The result of the surgery is the outer corners of my eyes were pulled downward. The scars around my ears are distant from the ears and are very noticeable. He did not even try to make the scars close to the ears (to hide the scars). The revision on the nose was a mistake. One of the nostrils is larger then the other. He did not stitch all the incision that he made around the nostril. So I have an open ended nostril. The stitches on one nostril is much higher then the other nostril. The nose bridge has many lumps. Dr Clavert said that he forgot to file the nose bridge after he finished working on it. I asked him to redo and correct the mistakes that he made. He kept staling and postponing for one year. Then he said that he will not correct it unless I pay. I guess there was a one year deadline. He is incompetent.
Futhermore, I requested Dr Calvert for a nurse to stay with me post-op. He recommended a nurse who stole my pain medications, money, and cellphone.

Jay Calvert was recently sued in civil court in Orange County for fraud, based on his role in defrauding his partner in MD Insider, a healthcare company

It’s so completely obvious to anyone with even the slightest common sense that’s Dr. Calvert’s positive reviews and immediate, scathing rebuttals are not written by actual patients. They are completely false and written by Dr. Calvert himself and people under his direction. It’s quite clear based on all the frank, negative reviews, most of which disappear very quickly, that Dr. Calvert is seriously harming patients and terrorizing them with lawsuits and threats to scare them into silence. I’ve seen numerous online reviews about Dr. Calvert’s egregious acts of fraud, but they are always quickly removed under the threat of legal action by Dr. Calvert. Thank goodness for www.the[redacted].com! Dr. Calvert is a pathetic person and terrible being! It appears that Dr. Calvert will stop at nothing to hide the truth about him. Dr. Calvert should have his license revoked and he and his cohorts should be investigated, arrested and prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.

Kay Calvert is a liar. He commented on a negative review by DEFORMED FOR LIFE BY JAY CALVERT. Calvert writes that she is not his patient. SHAME Jay Calvert the Liar. This is his patient & proof is on the [redacted].com. His patient provides documents showing that Jay Calvert is the surgeon. She is your patient. Calvert is trying to disassociate himself from the butchered job he does. He forgot things inside patient. Also the proof & crap work of Calvert is on [redacted].com. To P, I read your comment filled with BS & crap. Do not attack the Whistle Blower. Shame on you. And thanks to the patient for taking time to speak up.

I appreciate your comments. I have not personally had any disgruntled patients, but I can tell you that having been in this industry for over a decade, I can tell you that there is more than meets the eye on patient horror stories. We are only hearing the story of one patient with no rebuttal from Dr. Calvert. I think the easiest way to settle the issue of bad scarring or incompetent work is to see some unaltered photos of the work and to have it judged by plastic surgeons and lay people alike. There is a very easy way to post photos here on this website. Clues to the unreasonable nature of the original poster include the demand for a postop nurse. If this is medically not indicated, then it is the responsibility of the patient to arrange additional care as he or she deems necessary for comfort. Doctors are not short order cooks in this regard to provide nurses upon request/demand. Also, I'm not quite sure what an "open ended nostril" is? This is clearly someone who is not happy by the results and has not received their "expected" outcome even though there is no guarantee on final results in ANY field of medicine. I might point out that your own comments are unobjective and ad hominum in nature. Please exercise some objectivity in your posts. The Internet is already filled with too much crap.

Dr P, I strongly disagree that your opinion is that of a Dr or a person with common sense. Examen the facts:eg scars are distant from ears (prominent), nostriles different sizes, bumps on nose bridge etc. Dr Calvert is not capable of make surgeries. He should work as butcher. I read another review about Calvert that stated Cslvert's hands were shaking when marking patient's face. Another review talked about horrific scars on her breasts & placed the wrong implants. Board must revoke his license to inflict pain & misery on humans.

The original poster seems to be universally upset with Dr. Calvert. I am a plastic surgeon with no ties to Dr. Calvert, but I can tell you his reputation is impeccable. Many times when patients are unhappy, it is because of inability to hear or understand the expectations related during the initial or subsequent consultation prior to surgery. I have also dealt with a lot of unrealistic patients and turned them away. Judging by the tone of your post, I would say that you are one of those patients. I think the only mistake that Dr. Calvert made was to not turn you away.

Are there not regulators for the control and banishment of bad doctors? These people would be the ones who could make Dr. Calvert cease his surgery.
