I pulled up to the Exxon gas station at 10950 Nuckols Road in Glen Allen, Virginia to fill up my Toyota Avalon. It's a much older Toyota, so I always just use regular grade gas. I have never selected anything but regular because its cheaper and my car does fine with it. After I hit the regular button and began to fuel, I noticed the price was increasing much faster than the gallon amount. I looked away for a second and when I turned back I saw the price had reached $40, but was still fueling. When the gas price is only $2.19/gallon it only takes about $27 to fill up. I printed off the recipe and noticed I was charged with supreme grade ($3.91/gallon), which I did not select. The button is on the opposite side of the pump anyways. When I asked the clerk about the issue, he scoffed at me and said that he saw me on the "camera" push the supreme button. When I asked to see the video he said he "couldn't show me". Then he tried to tell me that the pump was closed, even though there was no sign or cover the gas pump. When I pointed that out he got all nervous and said "oh wrong one". When I asked again for at least some of my money back, he said rudely said no. I was trying to explain to him that the pump obviously had an issue that was not labeled and that he needed to do the right thing and refund the partial credit. I was so furious, because I selected the regular button but was charged with a higher gas price, and was treated very rudely when trying to solve the issue. I do look much younger than my age and have been taken advantage of because of that. But no one should have to be treated like that when they are over charged for a service, especially when the issue was due to a technical difficulty that was out if their control. I am incredibly displeased with this Exxon station and I would like to at lease receive the difference in the gas price, and make sure that the staff that run that gas station stop ripping customers off. I refuse to use Exxon Mobike until this issue gets resolved.
An image of the store connected to the station is attached.

I'm unsure how you did not notice right away that the wrong type of gasoline was chosen. It makes sense that they cannot refund you because you cannot "return" the premium gas you receive.
