I purchased a used vehicle Jan 30, 2009. When I bought this I knew there were a few things wrong with it that I would be responsible for like the radio didnt work and the back passenger tail light was broken (which found out $150 to fix a tail light) also the running lights had been busted out. There is a radiator low light that will not go off either. So I knew I would have to put a little money into the suv.

Within 48 hours of driving this suv the check engine light came on. I took it to MY mechanic on Monday Feb 2nd. They said the Throttle Sensor was bad, Ball Joints, Motor Mount was MISSING BOLTS, and the transmission was slipping. So I called the dealer and told them.

Ray Freeman told me "well you took it to the most expensive place in town. Let me have my mechanic look at it." His mechanic looked at it and ONLY fixed the throttle sensor, some coil thing and put bolts back in the motor mount. This was Monday. Tuesday had to go out of town for a funeral by Tues night the check engine light was back on. I talked to Ray Freeman at Glen Rabe in Ardmore Ok Wednesday morning and he put it on the machine and said it was some emission sensor. He turned it off and then said if it comes back on bring it in and I will take it to my mechanic.
Well Low and behold it came back on about 10 hours later. Called Ray this morning and was basically told it was out of his control and he could do nothing...I could bring the suv back but wouldnt get the $1500 down payment back or I could take it to my mechanic and have it fixed.

When I bought the vehicle I explained I was a single mom who need a RELIABLE/DEPENDABLE car. And he sales me this piece of ###!

I WOULD SUGGEST YOU NEVER DO BUSINESS WITH GLEN RABE OR RAY FREEMAN IN ARDMORE OKLAHOMA.

THEY WILL SCREW YOU AND WILL TELL YOU ONE THING AND DO SOMETHING ELSE!!!

NOW IM STUCK WITH A VEHICLE JUST PRAYING THAT IT ISN'T GOING TO LEAVE ME STRANDED IN THE MIDDLE OF NOW WHERE WHILE MY DAUGHTER IS WITH ME.

    I have met the people at Glen Rabe Motors in Ardmore personally. They were nothing but curteous. A lot of times you get what you pay for. If you are buying a used car, you are getting any baggage that comes with it. It is impossible for the dealership to know everything that is wrong with any vehicle. I bought a brand new 08 Tahoe and I have had it at the dealership for service 3 times. How can I possibly blame the dealership for what is wrong with the vehicle? It was brand new so they couldn't have any idea. I would suggest that before you go putting complaints and reckless accusations on the internet you look in the mirror and consider the fact that these people have families just like you and nobody is perfect. The people at Glen Rabe Motors are good, family oriented people with the customers best interests at heart.

    Anyone who Buys a USED car has the Ability to have it Checked out by a mechanic of their choice, BEFORE BUYING: And would be welcomed by any car lot that I deal with (GLEN RABE MOTORS Inc.)
    If the Lot does not allow this or is not welcome to the idea, consider buying somewhere else: The cars that i have Purchased from there have been fine, again considering the USED CAR Definition; Nothing other than routine maintenance had to be done (things that Go out, or needs replacing as part of normal Auto usage).

    The Sales man I dealt with on BOTH cars was Ray Freeman:

    I Personally wouldn’t have Purchased another Auto from the Company If the first one was not Satisfactory.

    Representative of the Company, REALLY ANY COMPANY should know,
    Every Employee if a Representative of the Company

    These people aren't curteous, all they care about it their money! family oriented?? Ha, these people don't have family. They might have blood relatives but farrrr from family. They sell cars that are destined for falling apart - for an outrageous price. We have had our car for about 3 Months and have had to take it to the shop 5 times!!! All I know is I am anti-rabe all the way. Your better off building your own car from scratch!

    Lol, Okay, I understand you're a single mom so you must have a reliable car, that's great. You also must understand a little tip of the trade, you can't take your car to an espensive auto store and expect them to not have a few extra "problems" then actually effect the car's reliability. I can understand you not knowing that, but it sounds like that's what Ray tried to explained. He prob took it to Button's since they've done great service for Glen for many years. And yes, they fixed what was WRONG. The light may have still come on, but do you really think he would turn off the light just to ### with a single mom and her kids? No. The light miss fires all the time in many cars. That's why the thing he used to see what's wrong has the option to turn it off. So I don't your life but it seems like you're not used to good service and will always feel like you're being burned if tons of money isn't thrown at every issue you call up for. They do sell USED cars. They sell alot and can't know every issue. They've been around for 40+ years so obviously they must have something right. Maybe next time you have an issue, they shouldn't try to fix it for you since they only sell 'as is' cars like every used car lot. But you know what they say, no good deed goes unpunished.

    P.S. "Anti-rabe", I believe I know who you are, and trust me, you are not apart of their family. The fact that they have bent over backwards for you the way they have is more then I would ever do. The family you came from, wiped your ###. You have done nothing with your life so it's a shame you expect that from the rest of the world now cause you aint never gonna get it sweet cheeks. So keep livin off the government and crying foul when you have to actually get off your ###. God Bless.

    I bought my jeep from Rabe about 9 years ago. I still have the jeep and I am very happy with it and the service I got from everyone at the car lot. I am thinking about going back to them for a newish pick up.

    I bought my very first truck from Glen Rabe. My salesman was very helpful. The truck i bought was absolutely nothing what I wanted & somehow my salesperson knew what I would like. Turned out I absolutely LOVED the truck he picked out. I was very confused when going to the dealership not knowing what to get or what I would really like. I had my truck for a year and a half & it was the best year n a half Ive had in a vehicle! However I changed job descriptions and had to switch to a car for traveling business & gas purposes & as everyone knows you cannot do very much travel in a big truck.. I wish I still would have kept it! It ran completely perfect & still has to be. I will be doing more service from Glen Rabe hopefully soon! Thanks to everyone at Glen Rabe for your service!     I bought my last 2 vehicles from there, an they both were great rides!! The pt cruiser I got, the engine light came on after leaving the parking lot, an its been on ever since..no biggy its just a light! I had it hooked up 2 that machine, an it was nuthn big, so no worries!!! I'm n the process now of trying 2 sell my cruiser cause it's time 4 a change, an I will go back 2 Rabe whn i'm ready! I wish every1 the best of luck w their vehicles!!! :)

    I purchased a car from them several years ago and knew the condition. I did put some work into it. I do need a newer car and would like to know if you have a site in the web for your cars on lot? It would be a good marketing idea to post pics and data information.
