I just recently graduated from Veterinary Technology school, I will be a certified, trained, vet tech. One of the long-time employees there, who never went to school and is only on-the-job trained, performs procedures that are illegal for her to perform. I, and multiple others, have physically watched her neuter cats in their cages. No veterinarian, no supervision whatsoever. The latest BIG complaint is the other day she placed a dying cat in a body bag and threw it in the freezer without administering any euthanisia drug. She said it was so close to death that it didn't matter. That is the most unethical thing I have ever heard. She should never work with animals ever. And she needs to get what's coming to her because she has been getting away with this nonsense for a long time now. Her name is Kat Quinn. Employees have complained about her over and over and over again, but nothing ever changes cause thats just "how it is." I, as well with everyone else who has and still does witness these events are offended, ashamed, and discusted by her and her actions.

A few days ago one of Dr. Awad's clients told me that she read the complaint posted by "Annonymous30". She told me that she was shocked and disgusted at the ridiculous and hateful comments that were posted about Kat Quinn. She proceded to check other internet sites and was disappointed to see the very same slanderous complaint was also posted on iFormative. The curious client clicked on "Annonymous30" and Erin Maser's name appeared. The annoyed client googled Erin Maser and saw that she had some personal information on Classmates. Erin graduated from Palmyra High School and is currently employed by another animal hospital, one that is not in the Elizabethtown Area. Erin shared one of her favorite quotes on Classmates..."It's easier to ask for forgiveness than it is to ask for permission." I personally found this quote to be ironic! I applaud Dr. Awad's loyal and astute client for identifying "Annonymous30". After being given this information I inquired as to why Erin was not hired. I was told that there were simply no job openings at that time. After reading Erin's post, one can only assume that she did not like Kat (that's an understatement) and thought she should replace her.
Erin, I don't know you but I hope you have read all the responses to your vindictive post.
I have a question for you. Why didn't you just identify yourself on your post so you could "own" your slanderous comments? Now I would like to offer you some advice. I suggest you be more honest and truthful in the future and "own" your personal posts. You willl have a clearer conscience and will earn more respect from others. Delores Walmer

Dr. Awad is the best vet I have ever had the pleasure of working with. My husband and I refer to him as "the cat whisperer, " as he is able to gently handle and inspect our cat in ways we are not even able to do without scruffing her. I do not believe the negative comments posted about his practice by ONE person at all. I have been going to Dr. Awad for about 5 years now (I went to others before that), and I will continue for as long as I have pets. He is fabulous, and I highly recommend him.

I am back again! I have shown the slanderous comments that "Annonymous30" posted on Aug. 17, 2010, to several individuals. I have a friend who is a lawyer and he said that this female made ridiculous and definitive slanderous statements! For example, "Annonymous30" stated that "she and and multiple others watched Kat neuter cats in cages." I become more outraged and appalled every time I read this. Maybe you would like to deal with me in a courtroom and have all these so called "multiple witnesses " receive summons to testify as to what they really, in fact, did NOT witness. The fact that these slanderous remarks may effect Dr.Awad's practice would be totally unjust! Even if you don't like Kat and weren't hired you were unethical and used poor judgement in posting these hateful comments. In your moment of anger you had no right to lie and add others into the mix to attempt to make your childish and "slanderous" comments seem credible. I would like you to be mature, honest and apologize for your nasty, hateful comments. Don't forget I worked at Dr. Awad's animal hospital for several years and my husband and I are in his office frequently. He is like family to us because we have witnessed so many of his acts of kindness. Oh, and did I mention that I was not on the payroll, so I have nothing to gain by posting my truthful comments. I am a retired, well educated, professional woman and am fed up with all the innocent people who find themselves unfairly slandered on a website post. This post is especially unfair to Dr. Awad since he is such an honest, caring and competent veterinarian. I would appreciate and suggest that you, "Annonymous30", apologize for your slanderous comments.

Great insight, Tasha! Wouldn't it be great if everyone would get it like we do?!
I'd like to add that for a Vet Tech she can't even spell anonymous!

This evening I just happened to see the ridiculous and slanderous post written by a female who cowardly called herself, "Annonymous30." I would like to thank RoxyMoose for her totally accurate comments which were posted on Jan. 14, 2011. Roxy is 100% correct in refuting the comments made concerning Kat Quinn. Kat would never throw a dying cat in a bag and toss it in a freezer. Dr. Awad always euthanized all the animals. He would NEVER have allowed Kat or any other employee to do such a thing. Kat is a very competent employee, is a very caring person and loves animals. I have know her for several years. Dr. Awad is a brilliant, competent, and compassionate veterinarian. I know this because I worked for him for 9 years and during those years I never saw him do, or allow, anything unethical to take place in his hospital. He is such a sensitive man and cares deeply about the well being of all his animal patients and their owners as well. I could write a book about all compassionate care and acts of kindness that I personally witnessed during the 30 plus years that I have known Dr. Awad. My husband, David, has told me many times that Dr. Awad has been a wonderful role model for him and that he has tremendous respect for him. David admires Dr. Awad's integrity, his compassion for others and has always appreciated the superb care he has given to all our cats and dogs throughout the years. I will close in stating that I am thoroughly disgusted with the false and outrageous comments made by "Annonymous30" ( I know who you are!) There was a valid reason you weren't hired! Do you know what Karma is? "What goes around, comes around." You reap what you sow." I hope you will become a more honest and less vindictive person in you dealing with others in the future. Shame on you! I am EXTREMELY annoyed and disappointed that the slanderous comments made by "Annonymous30" have not been removed from this site. Delores W.

I recently had to have my cat euthanized by Dr Awad, and I have to say that I have always been impressed with his work. He seems to know exactly what's wrong with my pets as soon as he looks at them, and he was very compassionate to my cat and to my kids during the time that the cat was sick. I'm not an easy client to appease, but Dr Awad and his staff have never let me down.

I don't know who wrote this but this is absurd! I worked for Dr. Awad for a year, and know the employee accused of these horrible actions. In my time employed there, I never saw anyone other than the veterinarian perform surgical procedures, and all such procedures were done on the operating table, not in the cages. Dr. Awad and Kat are both compassionate individuals and I trust them to care for my own animals as they would their own. In the case of euthanasias, all animals were pronounced dead by the veterinarian before the bodies were disposed of. Kat may not be a certified tech, but she has been working for the practice for a very long time. She is trustworthy, responsible, and knows her stuff. She is also a kind individual and I have never seen her do anything to harm an animal. Also, in the state of Pennsylvania, it is not required that veterinary assistants carry a tech certification. Her employment there is well within legality. Dr. Awad is such a sweet and like-able person. Believe it or not, I've seen him get choked up during euthanasia. After all those years in practice, he still has a heart and each patient is more than just another check to deposit. His facilities might be outdated, but he does all he can to treat people's beloved pets without emptying their wallets, and that's tough to find in a veterinarian. I am shocked to hear these accusations! To all of you reading this, I suspect this complainer is either competition trying to gain business, or someone with a grudge against Kat trying to bad mouth her. Don't believe it.

Are you for real? I need to shadow a vet and I was told this was a good office to do so at. My uncle claims he's a good vet, but there are not rating son him, and I don't like that. Is this employee still there? Were charges of malpractice ever filed? If so, what were the results?
