I entered this location at approximately 11:45am on Monday, January 29, 2024, and was greeted….with the shocking—and unbelievably condescending—“You can’t be in the store Missss.”

Naturally I initially assumed the woman (who turned out to be the actual store manager, Dona Sanabria) was directing her rudeness to someone who possibly deserved such a remark so I simply glanced around for the perpetrator….but everyone else looked pretty normal to me so eventually it dawned on me that she was still glaring directly in MY direction!

“Ma’am, I believe you may have me confused with someone else.” I began, but she cut me off, “Missss” (again with the ssssnakey ssss!) “we’ve had this conversation before. You’ve gotta leave my store.”

Umm….whaaa…yeah. I was at a complete loss at this point. The other customers were giving me weird looks which became so horribly humiliating that I felt tears burning my eyes, so I quickly requested the confused manager’s name and title etc. and fled Coffee Bean as quickly as possible.

It’s really very sad for me that I can no longer enjoy my favorite local coffee shop, and the worst part of all is knowing nothing of the back story, the explanation for her unforgivable behavior. I’m sure she has a good reason and probably my evil twin (or ?!) is a hooligan….but in my personal opinion, a store manager should probably make sure she’s absolutely positive about a customer’s identity before she potentially destroys a loyal customer’s business (not to mention ruined my day and even made me CRY at 32 years old!).

I feel extremely hurt and interestingly enough I actually feel incredibly betrayed as if a close friend just publicly humiliated me for no fault of mine! Please oh PLEASE help Dona understand the importance of proper communication and more vitally: be 100% sure your target is guilty before launching the personal attack!

Oh, and it’s quite impossible at this point, but I just was really craving my usual coffee iced blended with cookie crumbles. Thanks Dona :’(

Claimed loss: I left in tears feeling betrayed by my favorite coffee shop which had always before been my safe zone where I felt welcomed…oh and she refused to serve my coffee!

Desired outcome: Just please make sure Dona and all store managers know the importance of proper identification and above all: customer service is far and beyond more important than whatever personal vendettas the employees may have…thank you!
