Cape Cod Pest Pros/Mold Care Pros review: Mold Remediation of Cape Cod Basement on Sept 12-13, 2022

During the summer of 2022, my basement developed mold on all the closet doors and some of the walls due to the high humidity on Cape Cod. I had Cape Cod Pest Pros/Mold Care Pros remediate the basement paying them $2,980 and they did a decent job. What they didn't explain to me was that not only would they throw out items from my basement without asking my permission in advance, but every item in my basement was gone through and boxes/items removed without asking me in advance. (I've had other remediation projects done in NJ and they have always been very respectful of people's property, making sure people knew what they were doing in advance and asking permission.) There were boxes of liquor stored in the basement hidden in cardboard boxes in a remote section of the basement. All that remained of the 54 bottles were 43 bottles standing on the basement floor out of the cartons they had been stored in. I did take an inventory beforehand of all the bottles stored there and the 11 bottles that were stolen/missing cost a total of $488. Many of those missing were the most expensive liquor items in the basement, including a bottle of Don Perignon (valued at over $250). Also note, there were 6 total bottles of champagne but only the Don Perignon was missing. No one had access to the basement and/or these boxes other than the crew doing the remediation from Cape Cod Pest Pros/Mold Care Pros.

When I contacted Ken, one of the owners who I signed the contact with, by phone and also spoke to him in person, he did not apologize nor take any accountability. In fact, he was condescending and disrespectful. I did file a police report with the local police for this theft and they are still completing their investigation. But as of today, 5/9/23, I still have not gotten any resolution.

As a resolution, I would like a refund for the bottles that were missing costing $488. I appreciate your support in resolution of this matter.
