Candace Carlyon, Shea and Carlyon Most Hated and Highly Unethical Las Vegas Attorneys
Ask any attorney that knows Candace Carlyon and James Patrick Shea and you will probably hear the truth about Shea and Carlyon. They do not play by the rules. They try to take advantage of the fact that most attorneys and citizens don’t know collection law. Candace Carlyon and James Patrick Shea violate normal ethical rules and will even knowingly file false motions to convince Judges to rule their way.
Many attorneys hate Candace Carlyon and James Patrick Shea for their unethical/illegal behavior, but are not typically willing to sue other attorneys. Shea and Carlyon make their clients look bad with their unethical acts. It won’t be long before clients start getting sued for the acts of Shea and Carlyon. We look forward to seeing Shea and Carlyon turned into the bar association some day so their tactics can be seen by all.
Why is Candace so mean, unscrupulous and unethical? Many say because she is miserable with her extreme weight issue (She is very fat) and the fact that she had to resort to sleazy collection law to make a living. She takes advantage of people when they are down and tries to make them as miserable as she is.
It is one thing to try and ethically and lawfully collect for your clients. It is another to constantly try to manipulate the law and courts with false information to collect for your clients.
If you are thinking of hiring Shea and Carlyon, STAY AWAY. Hire an ethical firm instead.

These comments are asinine and are without any merit. I have known Candace for over a decade and she is not only one of the smartest and most talented attorneys I known, but moreover, is extremely ethical, professional, compassionate and giving. Here is a clue as to what to believe or not believe when you read it on the internet - anonymous posts are almost always bogus and written with an ulterior motive - especially when there are no specific facts or allegations of wrong-doing, but rather, only generic nasty statements. Additionally, it is interesting and important to note that none of these negative posts are from any of her clients or anyone who is willing to attach his/her name to the comment. If you have any doubt about Candace's competency, ethics, or professionalism, just call her and spend a few minutes on the phone with her. I am confident that you will quickly conclude that all that I have said is in fact true and correct, and that she is merely a VICTIM of this crazy cyber world we now live in, when complete strangers can besmirch your good name and reputation without accountability or responsibility. The internet, like many tools, can be utilized in a positive or negative way. Bringing information to the public is clearly a positive, but the negative side of that free flow is the ability to post inaccurate reports under cover of anonymity. If you want to know an attorney's reputation among her peers, try martindale.com, which posts peer review ratings ranging from A (the best) to C, followed by, in the case of attorneys judged to be highly ethical by their peers, the initial V. Thus, an A-V rating indicates that the lawyer's peers have judged her to be both highly skilled and ethical. I attained that rating and have held it for more than 20 years.
The American Board of Certification of Bankruptcy and Creditors' Rights Attorneys (abcworld.org) is the premier national organization for certification of attorneys in those areas of practice. Lawyers may be certified only after demonstrating their experience, and achieving a positive peer review, ethics review, and demonstration of abilties through both testing and continuing education. Attorneys must recertify every five years, again satisfying the peer review and education requirements. I am proud to have not only attained such certification, but, several years after my initial certification, to have been invited to join the board of directors of that organization and to have served as the chair of the standards committee, as well as a member of the executive committee.
A lawyer's personal integrity may also be observed by the time she devotes to organizations benefitting the public as well as the administration of justice. I serve as a volunteer on the Southern Nevada Disciplinary Board, the American Bankruptcy Institute's Southwest Conference Board of Directors, and also serve as a mediator for the Nevada Foreclosure Mediation Program (where I have conducted dozens of homeowner mediations, in many cases resulting in homeowners avoiding foreclosure and saving their homes via mortgage modification). I also serve as a Nevada Supreme Court Settlement Judge, and a Short Trial Judge.

Candace Carlyon is a terrible person. It is amazing she is still allowed to practice law.
She has recently become even worse with her actions. She has attorneys that are very mild mannered that truly hate her.
Candace, do the legal profession a favor and quit the business.
Candace Carlyon is known as the fat ### in the legal community.
She is more than a fat ###, she is highly unethical and unprofessional. She has no business being an attorney.
