Calgary Motorsports review: Bad service 15

The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.

After explaining carefully the extensive work my motorcycle needed Bill and Craig agreed to take it on. It needed numerous parts. Instead of fixing it they left it untouched for 5 months and told me they had ordered all the parts needed. They didn't provide an estimate for costs because they never looked at it. They only ordered two parts and lowballed the repair cost by $1200.00. I never recieved an apology or compensation for a lost riding season.

Meant to say Craig Cormier is the used car manager at Platinum Mitsubishi. Made sure to tell everyone I know never to buy a car there as long as that crook is there

I bought a bike from these crooks last march for $4000. I have in writing that I had a 30 day warranty. I had nothing but problems with the bike from day one and they did NOTHING to help me. After 20 days, the oil pump gear went and the engine died for good. They told me "sorry about your luck" Refused to honour the warranty and told me to sue them for my money back. Of course, they have now gone belly-up and there is nothing I can do now. If the crooks CRAIG CORMIER or BILL PETERS open another shop, or turn up anywhere on the map, they will get what is coming to them. I PROMISE!

whether the bike was a piece of crap or not is irrelevent, the customer took the bike there for work to be done and after months and months of the bike sitting there nothing was done. I'm a parts person by trade and no way does it take 5 months to locate and order parts doesn't matter what it is (the internet is a great tool for such things). My friend just restored his 78 kz650 including rebuild of the motor and new paint for the tank and plastics, ordered all his parts from the states and had it within a couple weeks. It sounds more like they kept putting off his bike which was a long term job so that they could finish their short term work. Understandebly they are not only working on his bike and have other customers to take care of but the bottom line is if they couldn't or didn't want to work on his bike they should have reffered him elsewhere.

There's always 3 sides to every story, the customer, the shop, and what really happened, sounds to me like they just didn't want to do your bike

Great service at Calgary Motorsports! Gentlemen I have had many bad experiences in the course of my lifetime and genuinely give people the benefit of the doubt. I have carefully read your comments and agree that I would be upset as well. I have had my mid 90’s ride serviced there only twice in the past 2 years as I have been fortunate enough she has not given me many problems (unlike the other “she” in my life, but that is a different storey ;)). I must say though, the staff has been nothing but courteous and “on the ball” with me. Sorry to hear you both have had bad experiences there, but hey! Everyone does have their “off times” and I have nothing but praise for these guys and for what they have accomplished in the past two to three years in business. For what it’s worth, when they installed the new tank on my bike, they actually power polished and waxed the other panels to match my ride’s new tank better at no charge…

All Season Motorsports ARE COMPLETE SCAMMERS!

I rented a Hyosung 450 sport quad for my buddy from these guys and got accused of doing 1500 in damage when in fact nothing of the sort was done to it and the damage was done before I picked it up. We noticed after unloading it that it took a serious hit before us. The weld points on the skid plate where actually split open. I have been quading for years and have extensive experience in repairing them and riding them. I know when I do damage and I know how much a reasonable cost to repair is. They had me cornered with my credit card number and shady contract.
Be very careful when ever renting from them!Or better yet...Never rent from them! they do careless inspections on their rentals and then try to pin it on customers later on when they find time to do a complete inspection. On top of all this they do not offer insurance for damages...they only offer liability.
Very bad customer service as well! They would not work out a deal with me when having to fix there own vehicle rented from them...charged me a 120% cost of Labour and jacked the parts up to the highest possible retail price you could ever pay.

I would NEVER RECCOMMEND this business to anyone! Very, very Shady.

i read about the previous complaints, but as stated above, i like to form my own opinion. i ended up taking my bike there for repair/parts and a tune up, as i thought i'd give them an honest chance. after 2 weeks of hearing nothing from them, i went in to check on the bike. the lady that works there told me that the mechanics are both on vacation until 'next week sometime', so i said nothing and left. next week i went in again to talk to a mechanic and see what was happening. i was told that yeah, they already had a list of stuff i needed, but didn't order anything because they need the customer's ok. that is a good thing, and i agree with the policy, but for god's sakes how about letting the customer know that it needs to be ordered! it was over 3 weeks between when i took the bike in (a day they told me) and when they ordered the parts. i can only imagine how much longer if i hadn't gone in twice to see what the hold up was. so i went back another 2 weeks later(still not hearing from them) to see what's up, and got 'mechanic's on vacation again, not sure exactly when he'll be back'! i went in again the next week, and got 'some parts are on back order.'. that's fair enough as they are not a parts depot, but if you order the parts in the first place, then they'd be there that much sooner. i ended up taking my bike out of that place 2 days later, without the back ordered parts. drove like crap, so i took it back and told them to get it running right. they 'fixed' it a couple days later, and charged me an hours labour for water in the cylinder. i just got back from riding it tonight, and it still runs like crap. backfires, doesn't idle right, and dies out over 9000 rpm (when i drag race it i shift at 11000 rpm). there is still the original oil leak that they 'fixed' by changing three other gaskets that were supposedly the problem.i will now have to take it to a real motorcycle shop, and pay to get work done right. a complete nightmare. this is an older bike(1985), but the motor has less than 10k on it. it ran fine for the last 7 years i've owned it, but they figured that 'the jets are all wrong'. this motor was built (pistons, cams, intake, carbs, exhaust etc) and tuned on a dyno. all of my biker buddies know about the whole episode, and i know they've told other guys, so at least a bunch of other people will avoid this place. never again.

Obviously this customer of Calgary Motorsports is untruthful. He says that he was not given a promotional gift, but yet contradicts that he was given two small parts.(and he did not peg a value - maybe they were worth $300?) Face it, if your bike is an 81, and you gave the whole thing away to a scrap dealer for free - you know that this piece of junk was worth nothing, and you can't blame a reputable dealer for your lost riding season - tell me how a junk bike will ever even get you through a riding season in the first place? THE DEALER BENT OVER BACKWARDS FOR YOU BY EVEN LOOKING AT THIS BIKE, STORING IT FOR YOU FREE OF CHARGE FOR 5 MONTHS, AND SPENDING HIS TIME LOOKING FOR PARTS FOR A JUNK BIKE. FACE IT YOU OWE HIM MONEY FOR HIS TIME. ASK YOURSELF THIS, DO YOU WORK FOR FREE? NO. YOU ARE UNTRUTHFUL.

Dear Calgary Motorsports,
You agreed to take on the work but never bothered to give me an estimate. You had numerous chances to tell me that you couldn't or wouldn't do the work because I came in often and you had my phone number. When I began to put pressure on you for a firm answer, you pulled on your hair and yelled at me "Do you expect me to work 24 hours a day?" No, I expected you to be honest with me and tell me that you were in over your head. I tried to be a nice guy by going along with your false assurances but the experience I had with you left me bitter and mistrustful about small businesses selling motorcycles.
Not only did you not apologize at the time, but once I posted an online complaint you gave me a weak apology, no excuse, a threat to sue me (violating my freedom of speech) and offered me an unspecified discount. Why would I need it? Because of you guys I still don't have a ride.
I never received a promotional gift of any kind.
I told you at the time that I didn't require OEM parts. Other shops told me they could do the work and that my estimate was right but by the time I finally figured out on my own that you were ignoring me and took my bike out all the other shops were busy until late fall. I had no place to store it and eventually had it scrapped.
I took the two small parts you gave me for "free" and gave them to the scrap dealer because I did not want you to have them.

We never low ball any quote. We were unable to complete this work order due lack of available parts for a 1981 Yamaha. OEM manufactures are only required to keep parts for 10 past last production date. Most of the parts needed were discontinued and had to be sourced from old stock items around the country. What this fine gentleman is not telling you is that we give him all the parts we did find to him for free, and refunded all of his deposit on parts. Plus we apologized for the inconvenience and give him a promotional gift for the inconvenience. If he paid $1200 more than our quote (doubtful since any shop quoting that high would likely tell him that his bike is not worth repairing), he was ripped off not us but the who ever did the work.

P.S. this is a great site! We strive to make every customer happy and any feed back either positive or negative helps us improve our service.

Sorry For Your Loss, Ive had nothing but great experiences with these guys. They've been there to answer every question and every single inquery i had. When i bought my bike from them, it didnt have the stock exhaust, it had someones home made cut off exhaust on it. They ordered the stock exhaust for me and put it on, for no charge! really saved my ### because i was getting complains about noise in the condo i live in haha. Another time i had a flat tire due to a 3" screw in it, they helped me out when i was in a very very very tight spot. I refuse to go to any other shop! if you read this i suggest you go to calgary motorsports and experience them for yourself. Form your Own opinion of these guys.
