I called and asked for someone to come and fix my garage door opener on Nov. 24. He came on 25 Nov and diagnosed the problem. Although website said it was free on-site estimate, he charged me $85 for the service call. But said he wouldn't charge me again once he had the part and came back to repair it. He left, promising to be back later that week with the part needed for the repair. It would cost me $319 plus tax, or I could pay cash of $320 and not pay the tax (this alerted me that this business was not legitimate). He didn't come on the day he said he would, and did not call. I called the company and he eventually got back to me to say that the part had not come in. It would be in the next week. Once again, however, no one came on the appointed day and no one called me. I called again. He said the part was delayed. He would get it and come 2 days later. That did not happen. I called. He called back and said he picked up the part but it was the wrong part. He advised it would be better for me to order the part myself and have it shipped here. Then he would come and install the repair. I ordered the part he said to order. I called to let them know I had the part. He said he'd come the next day at 4pm. He did not come and did not call or text to let me know he would not be coming. I called another service and they came and did the repair - but also told me the part I had ordered was not the right part and they could not use it. So now I'm out $85 for nothing, plus the useless part which cost $60. And I've paid someone else $172 to actually fix my garage door opener. I called C&A and asked for my money to be returned (the $85). They said they'd get back to me.
