I was in the Roanoke Bjs store #219, across from the bakery. I heard a loud exchange of words coming from the manager of the area. She, (the manager), was very loud and condescending to the employees. This could be heard by all the customers that were in the area waiting to be helped. Everyone looked very perplexed to see this going on. I noticed several customers just turn and walk away, without being assisted. Management or Leadership should NOT confront employees in front of other employees, and especially not in full view of all customers in the area. This exhibition of management style was very costly because of the customers that walked away, and the image that it gave of the "management" team at this location. I'm sure this representation of BJs management will be shared to other potential customers.
Desired outcome: This manager, or any manager, that exhibits this type of leadership skill, should be schooled on proper behavior as manager/leader. Or should not be in the position to lord over others.
