FIfth THird BAnk customer service continuously points non-account holders to BIll Payer 2000 (as recently as DEcember 2010), but the website does not exist anywhere. If you google the site, you are referred to a site that is under construction that has advertisements for other products and you are referred to a news report that says Bill Payer 2000 has been shut down. You can't make a payment on the FIfth THird site UNLESS you hold an account there. If you call to make a payment over the phone, they charge you a WHOPPING $17.95 for each transaction. I have never heard of a company touting a product that does not exist, that you can't make an online payment for if you don't hold an account and that charges such outlandish fees. I made the payment online from my own bank and it never arrived at Fifth THird. IT seems the only way Fifth THIrd wants to do business with non-account holders (by FAR the majority of its loan/mortgage holders) is through SNAIL MAIL - in the year 2011. I am going mortgage shopping and will find a firm that is interested in doing business in the 21st century. Heck, the 20th century.
