Berkeley County EMS review: Complaint

On 12/18/2021 my husband had a seizure, as he has had before, we called the ambulance to check on his vitals only, they came and checked them and said everything was normal. They insisted that he be taken to the hospital, I said that I would rather they did not, they insisted even challenged me to prove that I had the authority to refuse. They then called a doctor at the hospital and was told to bring my husband in. I have been billed several times before for ambulance service, I really did not want or see the need for it, as I was going to take him to see his doctor the next day. Well they took him inspite of my protest. Now we have a charge form them that I dont agree should be paid by us. We are ss income persons, with health issues. But it really is the principal here, they did not respect my wishes, and now they want me to pay them. I have tried to, but now finding it difficult to complete the charge. I thought they should be reported, as this is not fair to consumers. Thank you.
