Brennan Blacklaws operating as B and B Full Home Renovations did a bathroom renovation for us in June 2010 at a cost of approximately $17, 000. Upon completion in July 2010 we immediately had issues with a leaking sink, leaking shower, cracked tiles, incorrect installation of taps, tile baseboards coming off the wall. We contacted Brennan and he was away in Ontario and told us he would deal with the issue on his return. He never contacted us again and in the meantime the shower began to leak into our son's bedroom. We left Brennan continuous voice-messages and sent emails and it was only when we threatened legal action that he contacted us. He came to our house in November 2010 in an attempt to fix the leak and pulled some of the ceiling down in our son's room. We discussed our concerns regarding his customer service with him and he promised to be available to complete the repairs. We have not heard from his since. The shower continues to leak in our son's bedroom and we have a hole in the ceiling. We have left numerous voice messages for Brennan and sent him an email threatening legal action if he does not respond but we have heard nothing. We filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau in January 2011 and they have not received a response from him. We also contacted Service Alberta who advised that Brennan Blacklaws business is not legally registered and does not have a GST number. I would strongly recommend that no-one hires Brennan Blacklaws to perform any type of construction work as he is unreliable, untrustworthy and incompetent.

My husband and I hired Brennan Blacklaws through referral to do a full custom bathroom in our basement in May 2010. He came to our home half an hour outside of the city with samples for everything you could imagine for a bathroom from scratch. He showed us his business registration certification and explained he hadn't yet registered for his GST number because he had a certain amount to make in that year before he had to register for it. Being a business major, I knew this was true.
Brennan spent over a week on the mosaic tile from floor to ceiling, and finished it off nicer than we had ever seen bathroom tile done. The toilet he chose for us (duel flush) was the best idea ever, as we originally only wanted to go with the single flush. The custom countertop for the vanity was more than I could have asked for. All corners and edges were lined up perfectly and rounded off smoothly. The tub was already installed from a previous contractor who had taken the deposit on our bathroom, worked two days, and took off leaving us out $7, 000. Brennan Blacklaws completed our bathroom from start to finish in less than two weeks, when we were told by other contractors it would take a month. A couple of the days he was even at our home from 8am until 8pm grouting. We have had no problems what so ever with the bathroom he did for us, and receive compliments by visitors all the time and are very proud to show it off. I have referred Brennan to a few of our friends, one who had their whole house sided, and they have nothing but good things to say about the young hardworking man.
Our house was built in 2008 so it is fairly new. I have heard a few stories about contractors having trouble dealing with the much older homes but never fairly new ones.
