Asher White does not follow through on his work. He never calls back or does his work and you must consitently stay on top of him and do his work for him. You are paying him yet you end up do everything for him. He shows very little respect for his clients and he only gives you time when he wants you to finally pay him. Steer clear if you have a case that you actually want to end.
Asher White violated attorney client confidentiality when he was fired early on (as it became clear he was not competent to handle the particular case) and he was admittedly disgruntled. From the start, he was unprofessional and dishonest.
Heard from one of his former clients that she met him at this home at an agreed upon time for an appointment, and he allegedly showed up to meet the client at around 11am in his bathrobe! Good point of previous commenter: trust your gut instinct about lawyers you meet... if it doesn't feel right, you are probably right.
It is frightening to think of how many trusting victims are fooled...in our case, the domino effect begun by this office was catastrophic on all levels.

Horrible lawyer, completely unethical and abusive. Has a PHD in bullying and will lie and cheat to get what he wants. Watch out if his wife Henna gets involved or his son Mendy. All of them abide by the same moral code- lie steal and cheat to get what you want.
I retained Mr. White and his firm to handle represent me in a bankruptcy matter. The firm not only missed a deadline in filing opposition papers to a motion to dismiss, but billed me more than $8, 000 out of a $16, 000 retainer without even furnishing a work product or producing such papers. With no answer and just lies and misrepresentations claiming they did send opposition papers which a year later I have still yet to ever be shown a copy. I had to initiate an Attorney-Client fee dispute with the Brooklyn Bar Association to even get a response only for which, he and his firm have yet to even convey an honest explanation and has only offered to return $4, 000 of a remaining $6, 000 of the initial retainer and has refused to address the rest of the money being charge for work and opposition papers he has yet to even furnish. RUN AND RUN FAST FROM THIS ATTORNEY, HIS ASSOCIATES AND HIS FIRM.
If you have a complaint against an attorney, you may contact the Attorney Disciplinary / Grievance Committee. The office you need to contact depends upon the location of your lawyer's office. This appears to not only be a fee dispute, but a case of legal malpractice. It is unacceptable to miss deadlines for filing. Let it be known what you went through so it is on his record, and find someone to sue for malpractice.

Lawyers' Fund for Client Protection
The Lawyers' Fund was established in 1982 to provide reimbursement to law clients who have lost money or property as a result of lawyer's dishonest conduct in the practice of law. The fund is a remedy for law clients who cannot get reimbursement from the lawyer who caused the loss, or from insurance or other sources.

Remember, when you give an attorney a retainer, this is not money they have a right to until they worked for it and can show they billed. It is supposed to be put in the escrow account, not their own business account. A lawyer who does not handle his escrow account properly can lose his license. It is considered a very serious violation.

Be aware if Asher White suddenly appears out of the woodwork to represent the other side!
