We had 2 NEW AC units installed by Andy's Statewide Heating and Air Conditioning company in June 2017. We went through Home Depot to have this service taken care of.
This was later inspected by the City of Troy, MI and an Oil leak has been detected. When I contacted the company they did send in their service person and said it will take 2 hours for the repair approximately and they also turned OFF the unit . They also indicated that the refrigerant or coolant has to be recharged.
My concern is this is a BRAND NEW unit and why is that I have undergo this adverse outcome. This is very important because later this unit may become defective again in the future and I will be facing a reply from the company stating it will be out of warranty and I will end up replacing the unit all over again at a considerable expense.
I trust and trusted Home Depot Contractors thinking that I will be assured of a professional service and this is what I get. I requested a Brand new AC unit to be replaced and the company is refusing to do so.
I need some help here ASAP otherwise I will be constrained to use legal help.

First, if it is a new unit you should have called the company who installed the unit. There are manufacturer warranties for the equipment. Most manufacturers provide a 10 year parts warranty. Sometimes, although rare, new equipment needs service. If there are too many problems, the manufacturer may replace. To go to another contractor, Home Depot, in this case makes it more difficult to get the best service. Home Depot is not going to work with the manufacturer. Hardly Andy's Statewide fault for a manufacturer issue. You didn't even give them an opportunity to address your problem.
