After several years of normal use, this rather high priced bathtub has several large rust through spots around the drain and in the middle of the tub. The rust in the middle of the tub consists of about a dozen or so parallel lines that to me suggests a manufacturers defect rather than normal wear and tear. Plus, we have used a rubber bathmat the entire time, so it has not even been subjected to normal foot wear. Do not buy Americast! Buy a cast iron tub.
