Dear Greystar Management Services,
I have a complaint to write about Alvista Harmony Apartments in Fort Collins, Colorado. We currently reside in unit 3202; we recently asked for a couple of maintenance request to be done in our home our dishwasher & washer machine on Thursday December 8th, 2022. First, the request was because our dishwasher was not fully cleaning our dishes. It would take at least three sometimes 4 times to get them fully cleaned (it was still working just took several uses to clean one medium load of dishes). We have tried so many things from; adding dish rinse & using liquid dish detergent. When maintenance came to “fix” our dishwasher they said an orange toy ball was stuck in the drain and they took it out, used a shop vac on the drain too because they said there was other stuff in it. After doing this they mentioned they started a heavy wash cycle to “clean & disinfect it” they told me this would fix the dishwasher. However, with doing research myself; the orange ball was an important piece to the dishwasher and it helps it drain. After the wash cycle was done I opened our dishwasher to find a floating piece to it and it being flooded in the inside. I submitted another request on Thursday as a HIGH priority and no one never came to our unit on Friday. I head down to the office to find they are in corporate training all day and the office is closed & maintenance just standing in the lobby doing nothing. As you can see this made me upset as we pay for working appliances in our unit. Now we have gone since Thursday without a working dishwasher and have had to hand wash dishes (which we don’t mind) but again our dishwasher was “working” until maintenance put their hands on it and broke it. They deal with these appliances all the time and know the ins and outs about fixing them, so they knew what they were doing when they took out the Orange Ball.
Furthermore, when they came to smell our washer after I told them it was fowl smelling they said they couldn’t smell anything. So, we ended up taking these matters in our own hand & cleaned it ourselves. While doing so we noticed black stuff that was stuck to it and disinfected the whole washer machine unit. Now, it no longer smells foul after having us clean it; again we never had a problem with maintenance until recently.
When they came in it seemed like they didn’t want to work. They spoke Spanish the whole time they were here which they know is a language barrier. They did keep laughing and saying “me gusta”. Shortly after speaking Spanish they ended up leaving our unit and did not fix anything. They actually ended up breaking our dishwasher.
Moreover, we are not happy with how this situation happened, as we requested maintenance to fix something and they ended up breaking it. We are highly reconsidering on residing here at Alvista Harmony. We have been nothing but great tenants, who are clean, who never have missed a rent payment & never had a complaint against us. Also, we have lived here for 2 years and this has changed our view on how things get handled here.
If this does not get resolved we will contact the Colorado Department of Health and will report this company to the BBB.
If you have any questions or concerns please don’t hesitate to contact me.
Warmest Regards,
Samantha Crooker

Desired outcome: Brand new dishwasher. Or be upgraded to an apartment with working appliances with no additional fees added on to our current monthly rent. Everything in our unit is outdated and not current.
