We were told vast amount of lie's from the director's of these two companies starting from jan 2007 in relation to a plot of land which we where told was owned in Ballygowan by Adrian Martin and co and he asked us if we wanted to invest in property that was going to be built on it he told us planning was approved and the site was ready to be prepared for building. This was a lie he took our money £800000 we trusted this man, from april 2007 the lie's really started big time he started giving us start dates for the construction to commence, eleven start date's in total from july 07 right through to the middle of oct10 after this we learnt that he never owned the land in the first place and that the written agreement we had that one of the signiture's of the directors had been forged but Adrian martins was real. This case is now being investigated by CID(FRAUD) and we are not the only one's that have been affected by Adrian Martin he owes hundred's of thousands to other people who trusted this man and and anyone related to these company's, also a vast amount of trades men have been effected also building suppliers again the figure going into hundred's of thousands.I would advise you to keep well away from these people they are not men of God as they claim they will tell you lies to get their foot in the door, he has walk away from clients leaving their homes wrecked and their lives shattered through bad workmanship and business so if he was to give you reference's they would be hand picked trust me.These company's are now bankrupt. Please do not remortgaged your home or give them cash, they are not to be trusted.

I hope desperately that anybody considering this man for a construction job on their home reads this forum. Adrian Martin did work on our home. He walked off site halfway way through construction and told us he would not be in a position to complete the job. We had paid him up to that point on a payment schedule we thought was reasonable. But once he left and we had the outstanding work valued we realised we had paid him thousands in excess of what he had done. We completed the work as we had no recourse. (GEM construction had gone into administration. )
We were then made aware that the roof chosen by add did not comply with building regs and we had to replace the entire 12month old roof at a cost of £6k. Then we discovered a dangerously installed stove and a dangerously installed gas boiler both of which had to be replaced/reinstalled. We are out of pocket by about £18, 000 in total.
He has gone into administration on several occasions leaving customers like us stranded and out of pocket. He caused us the most stressful 12 months if our lives and left us with a home that was not safe for our very young family.
He was belligerent and aggressive towards me on several occasions when I raised issues with him.
I would also assert that YOU SHOULD NOT TRUST THIS MAN. He is a con artist.

All accusations on this site in relation to adrian martin and glenda martin gem construction and bmd have been investigated by 1. the Ulster bank 2 Independent administrators 3. independent insolvency practitioners 4. the police 5. the public prosecution service. All financial records are in the public domain from 2000 and have been exonerated by all of the above and indeed two of the above have placed blame squarely with the banks. Furthermore the solicitor and accountant involved with all investments have also been exonerated by the PPS. The accusations are inaccurate and unfounded and the defamation and intent are now the subject of a legal and libel process
