Safeway in Clinton, Maryland always have outdate, old food left on shelves and out of stock on staple foods. Although I try to make sure I check the date on everything, I often end up one at least 1 food item that got missed and has an old date on it. It is seriously inconvenient to have to keep going back to this poor quality store to return stuff. They don't even check the date of foods on their shelves and are frequently out of stuff you want--and they don't make even effort to get the items filled quickly. Out of many stock items all the time. Out of milk one morning. Never ever seen that in a Safeway store. Sullen check out clerks, slow service, dirty feel to the store. I am a mother of one child who enjoys eating cheese for this reason I buy home brand 500g block cheese, which cost $3.44 until Safeway decided to sign Jamie Oliver to their brand, not only has home brand cheese risen to $5.00 but most if not all home brand products have had astronomical price increases. So, I've been in need of work for a couple months now, so I applied online to Safeway because some of the positions looked great to work in! I applied to 4-5 different positions and got an email from a man who is apart of the Corporate Human Resources team. He e-mailed me to schedule a Pre-screen interview and what times would work. My husband is retired and I am disabled. We decided last year as we have a limited income to not buy gifts for our 4 children, their spouses and our 7 grandchildren but to provide them with a Prime Rib dinner. I had horrible service from the Manager, DON at the Safeway store in Shoreline off of 153rd and Aurora. He is not a people person, is arrogant and lies, doesn't listen and his entire store staff act like they are made and inconvenienced that you are there.

My wife has been shopping at this particular safeway store for over 4 years now. We spend over 3000.00 dollars a year just in prescriptions from the pharmacy alone. We just moved to Littleton, CO, and have both a Kroger and a Safeway right around the corner from us. Signing up for the Kroger rewards card took 5 minutes and we got two key-chain cards for scanning. Easy.

Today I went to the Safeway and asked to sign up. The clerk handed me 1 credit-card size Club card. I asked for a 2nd for my wife. Here's where the fiasco began:

I have been shopping at the Downing/Evans store in Denver for 10 years and I can't what happened today. Two female employees sitting outside, chain smoking and mocking every customer that walked across the parking lot. Old, young, heavy, skinny, male, female...didn't matter. I bought a bunch of groceries total came to 250$, I went home and noticed immediately when unpacking that all the produce I had gotten was rotting! Cucumbers had soggy ends and white mold, same with rest of produce.

Went back for exchange right away same night and wouldn't allow or help me whatsoever.

Had I just bought that maybe I'd notice it faster before purchase but I had picked up 250$ dollars with and they wouldn't allow me to exchange after. 30 mins the bad produce that they shouldn't be selling anyways and should be appalled and embarrassed...

There is a %50 (bright orange stickers) off table in the back of the store, but the "before" prices are almost double the original price. Spaghetti sauce "before" was $8 or $9, so %50 off would put it right back where it originally was! Wine is the same way, you end up paying close to the original price. Such a ripoff....
