On 4/22/13 My physician had requested I get blood drawn at California Pacific Medical Center/Sutter Health Medical Facility (CMPC). CMPC has their own lab. My bloodwork covered under charity-care" program that CMPC administers for non-insured/low-income patients. . However CMPC sent some of the tests to Quest Diagnostics (vitamin levels). Quest sent me a bill for $223.60. I wrote to them- explained about the "charity-care" and they responded the bill was my responsibility since my doctor ordered tests.Quest kept calling my home- and sent me bilss over and over. Last week a representative...

Quest Diagnostics - New Jersey, Moorestown - Employee Rudeness

Posted: 2013-05-14 by    repeat patient
Complaint Rating: 100 % with 1 votes
I have had my blood drawn many times at this Quest Diagnostics location. Time and time again I am shocked at the rudeness and lack of interest on the part of the technicians who are employed there. The individuals are rarely the same people each time I go, but what doesn't change is how poor the employees are in treating the patients. As I have sat in the waiting area and observed...I see the employee mutter & mumble instructions for signing, shove papers in front of people to be signed, look as though they hate their job and hate having to deal with any people. They appear completely uninterested...

Quest Diagnostics - Missouri, Hollister - Med Insurance Claim

Posted: 2013-05-01 by    Donald Muehr
Complaint Rating: 0 % with 0 votes
I, Celestina Muehr, was seen by Quest Diagnostics to have some exams done and they billed by Primary Insurance Aetna and they paid for part of it, and they claim they billed my Secondary Insurance Tricare Prime, and Tricare said they would not pay it without an Explanation Of Benefits or EOB. Tricare says they never sent it, and Quest said they tried to, and so because of a stupid communication error, I am being forced to pay a bill I shouldn't have to. I contacted Tricare and they said it is the responsibility of Quest Diagnostics to send the EOB, and I recontacted Quest Diagnostics, and they...

Quest Diagnostics - Quest Diagnostics can't seem to keep track of their payments

Complaint Rating: 100 % with 1 votes
I had a biopsy done in January of 2012. I received and paid in full an $80 bill on February 27, 2012. The following month I received another bill for the same procedure with a different invoice number. This second invoice shows my insurance paid the bulk of the bill and I owed $8.48. They owe me a credit!!! Why on earth would they change the invoice number?? I have been trying to straighten this out with them since February. I’ve lost track of how many calls, I’ve made and the people I’ve talked and nobody can figure this out. It’s now October 22nd and they want to send me...

Quest Diagnostics - California, Yucaipa - Demands an Open Credit Card for Medical Servicess

Posted: 2012-10-01 by    gstiler
Complaint Rating: 100 % with 1 votes
Quest thinks that Co-pay is now Pre-Pay!
Their new policy is to demand that you leave your credit card number with them. They claim that your account will be billed sometime between 1 and 6 weeks later. They do not guarantee that your account will remain secure.
Co-Pay does not mean Pre-Pay! This policy makes it very difficult for the consumer to plan ahead, as he/she does not know how much they will be billed. This policy discriminates against low-income families and senior citizens.
This policy is designed solely to produce revenue for Quest Diagnostics....

Quest charges 3 to 4 times the price of lab work as requested by your physician for normal blood/stool than other local labs. QUESTION YOUR BILL!! my daughter had 1 vial of blood drawn and a stool sample taken. They were sent from Florida to California????really?? and 2 tests that should have cost me $215.00 at the most, were billed for $750.00. Don't bother to call in, they just read the bill to you, yes, the bill you are looking at. They use big phrases, such as "I don't know" and "I guess so". You will not be transferred to anyone who knows anything, because no one...

Quest Diagnostics - Pennsylvania, Lansdale - Long wait, painful blood draw for child

Took my 12 year old son in today who is diabetic. He needed his annual blood work done and it requires fasting. We made a 9:30 am appointment and didn't go back for tests until almost an hour later. A young man walked in and was done 15 minutes sooner than us even though her arrived after us and had no appointment. No apologies from the staff. The woman that took my son's blood had trouble locating his vein and instead of looking to the other arm, proceeded to pull the needle in and out and move it around in his vein trying to get blood. This poor kid, who deals very well with pain, was...

Quest Diagnostics - Texas, Arington - customer service

Posted: 2012-05-09 by    Questdiagnostics employees are rude
Complaint Rating: 67 % with 3 votes
Quest Diagnostics located next to AMH in Arlington has the rudest office employees I've ever encountered. There was no greeting, The Man who took my blood said "there is a $65.00 estimated charge. Do you have a credit or debt card"?. I said "what" and then he rolled his eyes and repeated the question. He then said nothing except "hold this" referring to the cotton he placed on my arm after drawing blood. When he finished he raised the arm up, and said nothing. I stood there for a moment and realized he was finished. What the heck happened to common courtesy? Perhaps...

Quest Diagnostics - Florida, Orange City - Over Billing

I am no longer covered by health insurance. I went to Quest for Dr ordered Blood work. When I received the bill it was 4 or 5 times what they had charged the insurance companies for the same work in the past! There was no notification for Quest that this would be the case, pricing was not posted in there office. Had I been informed I would have passed on the tests.
It is ABSOLUTLY outrageous that Quest engages in this sort of price gouging. Quest is using the uninsured to subsidize lower rates to the insurers as a form of kickback / rebate. It is illegal!...

On Septemeber 1, 2011, I went to Quest Diagnostics as my physician wanted some laboratroy test done. I went in handed her the physician order. An order I could not understand of what test were going to be done. The technician hardly said a work to me. We did not speak about what was being done as I was so ill that I just wanted to get the labs done and go home. She drew the labs and send me on my way. Weeks later I received a report from Medicare of what was paid. Quest Diagnostics accepted my insurance payment. Although my insurance would not pay for two of the tests ordered by my physician. Quest Diagnostics - Florida, Orlando - Overbilling

I went in for a stomach bacteria test. I was pleased when the doctor explained that just one blood test could sense if their was a problem and there-fore I could save money by just taking one test. The price for this test was on one of their charts and was for "138.00". When I received the bill they had billed me three times for the same test. When I call the lab they say the doctor ordered "3 test" and they don't care to hear or even acknowledge that fact that in my hand I'm holding the lab work papers which state only "1 test" authorized. Currently fighting...

Quest Diagnostics - Billing Practices

Complaint Rating: 100 % with 3 votes
WARNING - Before you promise anything to collection agencies for any alleged balances due Quest Diagnostics, take a look at your bill! In PA, Quest has an add-on charge labled "Travel Allowance One Way" for $85. The actual bill for testing may be $29, which your health care provider pays for and you usually have a small co-pay. Quest is submitting bills for the "travel allowance" amount which, of course, was not paid by health care, to collection agencies who dun patients and threaten their credit rating, most of whom may be on fixed incomes. Think about it. A guy drives around...

Quest Diagnostics - Florida - Co-Payment

Posted: 2011-07-23 by    bingobilly
Complaint Rating: 100 % with 2 votes
Quest Diagnostics now requires patients who are insured with Blue Cross & Blue Shield to pay them a $30 co-pay or let them keep your debit/credit card number on their system before lab work is done even if the patient's BCBS coverage does not require a co-pay.

After BCBS has paid Quest and the patient's BCBS coverage does require a co-pay Quest will keep your $30 or charge your debit/credit card. If the patient's BCBS coverage does not require a co-pay Quest will refund the $30.00 and not charge your debit/credit card for anything.

Obviously, this maneuver...

Quest Diagnostics - Florida - Overcharged for Lab fees

Quest Diagnostics charged me $215 for a Vitamin D-3 test. This is simply a ridiculous amount. First of all, the Doctor sold it to me as a "routine blood test" during my yearly physical. All I know is that 2 weeks later Quest bills me for over $300 for the tests! Why did the Doctor not warn me? Why is Quest charging so much? Why is my insurance not paying if this is a routine physical? I called all of them, and everyone blames everyone else. The bottom line is, this is a huge rip-off. Beware before you take any blood test and make sure your Doctor does not order any tests that will result...

Quest billed my wife over $625.00 for lab services ordered by her Doctor. We have no insurance, and when I called to see if they would discount the bill for a cash pay, the customer service rep stated that it is against company policy to discount a private pay account. Discounts are reserved for contract customers only. In other words screw you patient, we love Insurance money more than you. Even after explaining my situation, they were completely unwilling to work with us at all. BEWARE OF QUEST DIAGNOSTICS!! They are not in it to help patients they are chasing insurance $$ and if along the way...

Quest Diagnostics - Virginia - Invoices addressed to Minors

Posted:    J.E.F. Rogers
Complaint Rating: 0 % with 0 votes
I have had this issue before - but did you all know that if your minor child is sent an invoice (addressed to the child/payable by the child) you, as a parent, are NOT LEGALLY responsible for the bill? Well - My 16 year old daughter received an invoice for lab work done by Quest. The envelope was addressed to her with the statement: "To be opened by Addressee Only". I wrote on the envelope: "Addressee is a 16 year old child. You want payment - address invoice property. Return to Sender". They sent out a second invoice addressed the same way. I, in turn, wrote the same note and...
