This is a puppy mill. She readily admitted to having over 37 puppies at one time, not to mention the many adults she has. She breeds her females every time they come into heat, with out any breaks or rest periods in between litters. She is a liar and a thief. She made an agreement to sell us a puppy for a lower price when we sent her 2 extra large kennels and a professional dog bathing unit, and when it came time to sell us the puppy she refused to sell us a puppy for what she had originally agreed to and wanted to charge us the full $2000. She is not making sure her puppies go to good homes. We rescued a dog she had originally sold to a guy who starved and abused it. Beware of this breeder...she is bad news!

I filed the above complaint Dec 2014. I am attaching Kim Phillips’ emails as proof of what transpired. To recap. I purchased a dog for my seriously ill 17 yo son. I bought a male Beauceron puppy from VanDer Moor-Hond kennel. I sent a cashier check to Kim. She shipped Revan with nothing other than the shipping paperwork. After several unanswered texts, I began emailing asking for his papers. You can see the rest in the emails attached. Sadly, Kim never made this right. I did not pursue filing a small claims suit as I live in a different state; was a single mom working on FMLA as my son spent 4 mos recovering from Lemierre’s syndrome.

We live in NY and purchased a handsome beauceron puppy from Kim. We asked for the largest in the liter and we got what we asked for. Kim was honest and gave us all of the good and bad about this breed. These are working dogs and need to be kept busy otherwise they will be destructive. We loved Gunther so much and asked Kim if she had another to be a companion for him. She had Gunther's sister available who was a rescue from a broken home. Her name is Gabby and we have had her about 4 years now. We couldn't be happier and feel that Kim is a hard working Breeder who loves these animals. Thanks Kim...

We have a happy and healthy 14 month old pup from this breeder. There were no issues with the selling process and we received registration papers in a timely manner. Kim was nothing but helpful and responsive during the process, so it's confusing to me that it could have been any other way. Having multiple dogs on an acreage does not make it a puppy mill (it actually sounds like dog heaven to me), and I believe Kim did a fine job of pointing that out. Most "scammers" wouldn't have even bothered to respond or been able to. When you purchase a pure bred dog you have a responsibility not only to the dog but to the breeders wishes. It shouldn't be too hard to understand. We love our boy more and more every day and it saddens me that there are hurtful people out there who don't care to recognize what it means to breed dogs of this caliber, nor have any sort of respect for the breeder. We would be honored to get another pup from Kim when the time comes :)

This is Kim Phillips of Vander Moor Hond Kennels
I had 1 dog come back supposedly due to urinary problems, peeing in the crate and house. It was decided after the owner threated to euthanize him that I would take him back. He was transported via a Show handler and was on the road for 7days cross country and did not once have an accident. Upon his arrival he was examined by a vet and had no urinary issues, whatsoever. He did have a severe fear of men and submissive peeing issue, it took months to build his confidence but with time he stopped that behavior. he was placed with a awesome couple. I put them in contact directly with the owner to work out the details on the dog. I did not feel under the circumstance any refund from me was in order since this was not a genetic issue.
The owner, as I recall refused to respond to the very generous rehoming fee the new owners offered.
As for the Registration papers I was retaining breeding rights to this dog so I likely would have held his papers til certain terms in the contract were satisfied.

I posted the Dec 2014 complaint. Kim Phillips never sent Revan’s papers. Above it sounds like she is saying I had a contractual obligation I didn’t fullfil. That is not true. We had no contract other than verbal. It was simple; i purchased a papered male Beauceron puppy for $1350, which i could then register. I sent her a cashiers check. She shipped Revan. He arrived with nothing other than the shipping paperwork. I have Kim’s emails, when she DID reply in the first few mos. I will post below.

The bottom line is, there is no excuse.

The dog came back and had none of the issues that had been described as the reason for the return. He had a full Vet check and was found to have no urinary problems, whatsoever, the only issue the dog had was he acted like he had been beaten and severely mistreated for his fear of men, submissive urination is not genetic. After many months of working with the dog and building his trust and confidence I placed the dog and put the two parties in contact as is my general policy, to take back any dog of mine and upon finding a suitable home facilitate the transaction. The above owner would never respond to the new owner about payment? As for papers I believe I retained breeding rights to said dog, so I likely did have his papers.
As for the Registration papers on the other dog they purchased a pet puppy to be neutered. She has no idea what she's talking about because everyone of my litters is registered and quite frankly the lady was so horrid acting to me that I put her on the way back burner and will eventually send the papers.. I own that one..I'm human what can I say.

We had a terrible experience with the above "breeder" as well. We had bought a puppy that had urinary issues upon arrival at 9 weeks old. After spending over $700 in medical expenses and seeing 3 different Vets, our main Vet recommended sending the now 1 year old pup back. All the while keeping Kim informed of what was happening. She agreed to send out money back when he arrived back to her. Once she got the dog, she then refused to send refund. She is a criminal!

I purchased a Beauceron from Kim Phillips, VanDer Moor~Hond Kennels, 10/29/14. Interesting to me that Kim wouldn't sell to someone (above) who was not going to register the dog because Kim sold me a puppy for $1350 and has never provided the paperwork for me to register him. The puppy arrived with nothing but a vet cert to ship. I've emailed, texted, and called numerous times. She has repeatedly said she will send the paperwork but has not. I called the AKC this morning and they said Kim, as Kim Phillips-Hendricks, has not registered a litter since 2011. I am a very dissatisfied customer. My 17 year old son fell ill 9/14, almost died; he was hospitalized for 3 weeks. He researched the breed, hand picked the dog, spoke with Kim several times while making the decision. I fully explained the circumstances to her before I made the purchase; she knew the puppy was for him. Her last correspondence to me 11/26/14 was that she didn't have good follow through and would send the registration paperwork in the next day or so. I emailed 12/26/14 & left several vms today with no response. In business, when you are selling to someone, you have an obligation to give them what they pay for. I paid $1350 for a registered Beauceron puppy. My son deserves no less. I would never have purchased a puppy from her unregistered.

This is Kim the owner of Vander Moor Hond Kennels
In response to Angel's complaint
1st I have asked for a $125.00 invoice as that was the agreed amount for the crates to pay through paypal since we could not come to a agreement on the terms of the sale of a female puppy. They have yet refused to send it. But are trying to make me out to be a Thief?
I refused to sell them a female puppy after they made certain facts known to me that they intended to breed the dog, not register her or plan to do any health screening of the parents just for pet puppies! I could not condone this type of breeding practice. They readily admit to only wanting to reproduce so they won't have to pay another $1000. for a puppy when their dog gets older, and they believe they can just give away unregistered dogs from parents with no health certifications. They have no concern whatsoever for the breed our last communication Angel said "she would just get a German Shepard, she liked the cross better" ! This very much saddens me as a breeder of this wonderful breed.
In part, my theory in pricing is to weed out this exact mindset and it worked they weren't willing to commit to spend the amount of money a breeding female cost and do what was required to breed her responsibly.
Many of my pups as well As Arac are in service to the community giving back as SAR medical service dogs and Therapy dogs. I also show my dogs so they can be judged for correct conformation of the breed. I believe I invest more in my dogs hips evaluation than any other breeder of beaucerons in the US.
#2 Yes, I am a breeder --breeders breed and produce puppies I usually have 2-3 litters a year depending on if I have a strong list of homes.
Earlier this past year I bred 2 of my females to produce 1 harlequin litter which I had been wanting for 2yrs, and another to hopefully produce some show stock for my upcoming show string. Both planned. 1 female it was her 1st litter the other is a 4yr old female and it was her 2nd litter --not exactly being bred with out breaks!
During our move 2 of my females came in season & got bred, I did not prefer this to happen as I had the other litter coming, but the people helping us and the circumstance the kennels brokedown and on a trailer and all my other containment systems in use for our move I did the best I could and I failed. They both got bred the same day and had there pups within hours of each other! As for Shady, this was her 1st litter in 2yrs, but Vannie had had previous consecutive litters and I really wish, as beautiful and proud I am of her and her puppies, that she would have cooperated and practiced some restraint:-)

As for the tub, I bought a tub but not from them! They very graciously allowed it to be stored for 2 days at there house til the shipping company picked it up I didn't know they would try to use this small but very nice favor in such a way to make it sound like I did something wrong.
As for Bear, Bear was not a rescue- He was sold to a family and like over 50% of the married couples they got divorced and Bear was stuck in the middle They purchased not rescued Bear and he went directly from the previous owner I helped facilitate the transaction but otherwise Bear was coming back to me. They reported on his arrival he was in very poor condition I was sad to hear this, I'm glad that Bear has found a loving home with Angel and her family, however, if I was greedy and heartless as they claim, I could have sold them a puppy instead of helping with the purchase and rehome of Bear.
I have done everything that is possible to ensure loving and forever homes for Bear and all my dogs and they are always welcome back.
I have the space, means and experience and love of not only my dogs but the breed to take care of the dogs I produce plus the other beaucerons I've rescued from breeders unwilling to take their own back.
I won't have someone slander me without a response anytime anyone would like to visit my place the coffee's on:-)
Have a great Day Kim Henricks-Phillips
