I have been going to a doctor frequently to treat a condition that I have under Aetna insurance. I collected bills pretty quickly and I received the first bill by mail and paid if off right away. The bills that I had after were never mailed to my house and after a couple of weeks I ended up calling the billing dept to find out what was going on. They said they have sent the bills and stated the dates and I told them I didn't receive most of them. They then stated that I should be receiving a bill of all the bills I missed combined into one big bill which I do eventually receive in the mail. I called them and asked to make a budget plan. I paid my plan on time for two months and a couple of days after sending my second payment I get a "Final Notice" in the mail stating that I will be sent to collections if I do not pay the balance of my bill.

I call RWJ to find out why am I being threatened to being sent to collections when I am paying my bill on time and a representative states that there was a bill that was never put on the payment plan. I ask why that is and her response is I don't know. By the way that is all they say over there for every question, they never have answers. I told them that the invoice was part of the original payment plan and that it made no sense for it to suddenly not be. Again "I do not know". I also stated that I never received any bills in the mail nor did I even receive any notification before the final notice was sent to my house. You are supposed to receive two previous notices before the final one. The rep said that they sent the two final notices and rudely stated that I am not receiving my mail and should speak to my mail carrier. Why is it that I am receiving my bills with no problem from everyone else but not them specifically? It is certainly not my mail carrier. I also have a friend who was on the "budget plan" with them and they did the same thing to her. NO previous two notices - so what about her mail carrier?

I then found out that I was already sent to collections two days before I received the "final notice' to my house. I NEVER RECEIVED ANY NOTIFICATION THAT I WAS ALREADY SENT TO COLLECTIONS. I was getting calls for over a week from a company called IC systems (a collection agency) and did not even know they were a collection agency, I thought it was a scam company the whole time.

How are you supposed to resolve paying your bills if
1. You do not receive the original bills
2. You are not notified if anything is not included in your budget plan
3. You don't receive any notices to pay your bills before being sent to collections or any notice that you were already sent.
4. The final notice is sent AFTER you are already sent to collections.

I had to fight with both RWJ and IC systems to get me off collections for RWJ accidentally taking an invoice off my budget plan and never sending me any bills or notices whatsoever.

They need to reorganize their billing department, it is a shame that a big hospital such as Robert Wood Johnson has a billing department that is so bad. I am so fed up with this situation. I never had any problems with any other hospital, they might lose me as a patient.

Someone needs to investigate thier billing department.

By the way I know I spelled their wrong for those of you who are grammar police, I was typing too fast and did it by accident. I tried to edit the complaint but it is not letting me.

By the way, yes I spelled their wrong, for the grammar police out there. I mean to revise but I can't now.
